hello again, 

being on tumblr is like addressing my teenage self 

your girl is a doctor now 

every single day of term for the last 6 years have been absolute hell and it’s taken every thing i’ve got 

it wasn’t easy, some days, it wasn’t even worth the fight 

there’s blood on my knees from crawling to the finish line

but here i am, one mbbs later

I’m just back for a little bit.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on tumblr, it constituted a large part of my teenage years and it’s become this strange and foreign land that I don’t relate to anymore, but I still love all the stuff I reblogged and I still care about all the people I cared about before.

Medicine is really hard. It’s really draining and it’s really tiring and I want to tap out most days because I don’t think it’s really the one for me. But I’ve been on this path for 3 years now  and it feels like I don’t know anything else apart from medicine.

I think about young Annie a lot, the one who was here when this blog first started. It hurts a lot to think about that, I’m trying to get better at that, I’m trying to get back into therapy. A lot has changed since then, I lost a lot of friends, some I regret and some I don’t. I became a city girl and realised just how claustrophobic i felt in my small hometown. I made a new start but I’m still haunted. I thought I got better but I found myself almost back where I started.

I don’t know what I came here to say. I loved tumblr - until it got weird, I loved sherlock - until it got stupid. It’s strange to connect the two persons together.

So I guess TL;DR: I am still at medical school. I am struggling again. But I am okay. I hope all the people I used to care about are all okay too.
