Commission for @ahlierareference! I didn’t think I’d come out loving it so much .°(ಗдಗ。)°.

shout out to ace and aro kids who are constantly bombarded with the opinion that sex and romantic love are directly connected to living a happy life.
Since it’s almost valentines day, and this message is about to get hammered in even more, reblogging this again.
The only smash I plan on having on that day is a game of Smash Bros
who is old enough to be part of the fanfic.net era where we literally talked to our characters? like, had conversations with them?
cause I do. as a lonely child of 12 who had no friends, it was a favorite pasttime of mine to boot up the dial-up internet and type out imaginary conversations with ouran high school host club characters in the beginning notes before even starting the damn chapter (which was inevitably 500 words long and absolutely awful)
Modern Author’s Note on Ao3: might discuss some possible triggers, thank readers for comments, apologize for a delay in update, etc–talking to reader, essentially.
Author’s Note on FFN back in 2010:
Author: Y’all are gonna love this cahpter!!!! [Character] not sooooo much
Character:…wh–what’s gonna happen?
Author: Don’t worry about it! ^.^
Character: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME??
Author: ;)
Character: D:
those were dark, dark days, man. Today’s Fandom Freshman are sure lucky they missed this.
This when right alongside the detailed disclaimers to avoid lawsuits.
Don’t forget that the author was broken into at least five separate voices, ‘Inside Out’ style.
or where you would have ask blogs for your ocs except it was just in a ff.net story. basically an entire classic authors note except people would ask questions. that was my childhood.
Y'all forgot that sometimes we also appeared in the middle of the text with notes like “(author: noooo >:( character is such a b*tch!!!! character: I’M NOT!!!!)” And it was the crimgiest shit ever but we had fun doing it lmao

20 lessons for 2020
2019 has been a pretty challenging year for me. I started it being scared and anxious about everything, and I ended it single, with new career goals and surrounded by my best friends. Here are 20 lessons (100% tested and approved) that I learned along the way!
1. People only show their best sides to you but you would be amazed by how many people share the same feelings as you
2. If you feel like you can’t be yourself around a certain group of people, then you’re hanging out with the wrong group
3. Notice people who make you feel energized and happy VS people who drain all your energy. It’ll change your life.
4. You don’t need to justify yourself when you say « no » to something
5. However, you should say yes more often to spontaneous proposals and experiences
6. Honesty is a sign of respect
7. If you don’t give your 100% to something then you’ll be less likely to get that 100% back
8. Choose flaws over qualities. Your dream job also consists in not-so-dreamy parts, and this is what you should consider when choosing your career. The same applies with friends/lovers.
9. The person you sit in front of at the library can become one of your best friends (true story for me)
10. 99% of the scenarios you imagine in your head will never happen
11. Changing starts within YOUR thoughts and how you react to them.
12. Just because you’re offended it doesn’t mean that you’re right
13. Keep a critical eye to everything you hear/see.
14. Being vulnerable is a sign of strenght and not a sign of weakness
15. You can cope with a lot more than you think
16. Your life can totally change in a year and you can be a whole different person only if you’re willing too
17. Cherish what you already have in your life, happiness lies in gratitude
18. Wanting to be perfect for others will only make you seem a boring and hypocrite person
19. The habits you adopt now will define the person you’ll be in the future
20. Be curious. Read books, listen to podcasts, travel (even in your country), and talk to new people

Did you think I’d leave my best friend without a defence mechanism?
Donna and the Doctor were amazing! They’re my ideal model of two best friends who could get into all sorts of trouble together and always be able to get the other out of it, always teasing each other and yet always enjoying the other’s company. They were unashamed in how much they cared about the other while still being respectful and supportive. And they were exactly what the other needed to help them realize their true potential and learn how to fill the shoes of the person they could become! I hope to one day be able to write a friendship between two characters like what these two had.
the art of making someone feel seen and feel special IS the highest art
December 2019 vs approximately 2010-11
I saw people posting their art improvement over the decade by redrawing something they did 10 years ago and wanted to give it a shot. I… genuinely did not realize how far I’ve come over the years until I sat down and did this.
Makes me excited for what’s to come!

He’s not Cloud Strife I promise.
but you see her on instagram and it was never really said that you guys aren’t friends but one day she stopped answering and you stopped texting and it’s not like the wound is a cavern but it is a diagram of what if in red letters. you want to tell her nice lipstick that’s a good color but the last time you spoke it was stilted and awkward
how do you say goodbye, you know? it’s not an unfriend and block kind of situation. but you watch the people you once loved go on and have a life and you’re outside of it. and it’s bittersweet because of course it’s okay that you’re both thriving. but she used to be who you’d call if you needed to cry. she used to be who’d you’d be binge watching the new series with. you used to be hers, in a way, even if that way wasn’t permanent. and now she’s someone else and so are you and your friendship is clicking heart shapes next to pictures where she smiles next to people you’ve never met. you know where her birthmark is. she knows where you’ve buried your dead.
the poets and the singers and the authors write about romantic love when it ends. but nobody tells you how to get over a friend.

Can you give some art tips? Because wow your line art is freaking gorgeous and that’s my weak point, like seriously your art is wonderful
Sure!! I’m not sure what exactly you wanted, so I hope this is what you were looking for? If not just shoot me another ask lol
The first thing I do is erase my sketch as much as I possibly can, without actually erasing anything important. If your sketch is too dark, it’ll be hard to tell what your lineart looks like because it’ll blend into the sketch too much.
Then I trace it with a pen. Nothing special here.
Now, this is the fun part- varying the thickness of the lines. When you’re working solely with lineart, lines that are all the same size can make it look boring (not always.)
A good rule of thumb is to add thickness to curves or in edges where a shadow might be. You’ll notice that I didn’t do this to the places I knew I was going to fill in with black.
Now, I know I want to color in his hair, hat, and tunic with black. But I don’t want to overwhelm the image with too much black, so I’m going to sketch in areas where I think a highlight might be.
…And I line that. Also, if there are any lines that will be lost when you color it in with black, now is the time to plan ahead and make sure you don’t color in those spots. Or, just use a white ink pen. (You can see this where his hair and his hat meet, for example.)
And I fill it in! I usually use a Sharpie for this.
Now, you can stop here if you want, but in the spirit of inktober, I’ll add one more step. At this point, I take a thinner pen, and fill in those highlighted areas.
Finally, I run it through an app called CamScanner (or you can use a regular scanner if you have one). This one is kinda grainy but that’s because I took the above photo in bad lighting. Sorry.
Oh, and here are the pens I use! Size 02 and 005 are my go-to pen sizes, but that’s because I draw very small.
I hope that helps!! If you have more questions just let me know! :D
