I’m Hyde, but I also go by Thorns on occasion. I’m a transman, I use both he/him and it/it’s interchangeably. I am a fictionkin and a hoarder of xenogenders. I am also a semi-sharing Banhammer yume

I am neurodivergent and would appreciate the use of tonetags when interacting with me, if needed. It’s difficult for me to understand tones online, especially during long conversations.

I’m very passionate about gothic literature… guess my favorite. I love dinosaurs and reptiles, as well as birds. My favorite kinds of characters are evil scientists and cowboys… a good portion of my ocs are either or. I mostly post fandom art, but I may once in a while post about my ocs here. I hop fandoms frequently and will only usually focus on one at a time.. infrequent posts to be expected as a result.

I’ve been working on a subspace sona, but something about what I have currently just feels off, I can’t really put my finger on it 😢 I think it may be the over use of red/brown? But I’m not exactly sure what to substitute it with, I really like the red/white/blue palette i have currently- this just feels chaotic though

you all are so annoying about "sworn brother" "psuedo-incest" like what do you not get about "being related is why incest is called problematic". if theyre not related its NOT INCEST!!!! are you insane??? if someone sees someone else as their partner and theyre with someone else it's not cheating, why would it be incest if theyre not family??

I’ll just throw my hat into the ring and say that maybe some people can have this line of thought, but to me having two characters who are like siblings being romantically paired just… feels weird to me, even if they aren’t actually blood-related.

hi there! i’ve been writing a critical analysis of the glass scientist for a couple weeks now and i want to ask those who are prominent members in the jekyll and hyde tumblr fandom their thoughts on the glass scientist. unlike some other blogs, i haven’t seen you talk about the aforementioned comic so you can ignore this ask if you want but i have to ask my question:

if there was a single aspect of the glass scientists you have to criticize or appreciate what would it be?

I used to be big into the Glass Scientists back in its early days, I loved the style and I enjoyed the additional characters included; however, my main criticism lies within the story itself and its overall pacing.

My interest focuses on the original novel, that being the version I’m most familiar with- and although it’s my favorite, I am always open to seeing different versions and iterations … however, Glass Scientists feels more like a spinoff story inspired by gothic literature as a whole, rather than just J&H like I had thought when I first started reading it. Of course that is completely a-ok, however it sort of drove me away as the story progressed and the focus started to shift elsewhere. I found the pacing to be a bit difficult to follow along with as well, I never understood what the main “plot” was meant to be. I picked up on the small side-plots and enjoyed those for what they were, although I just couldn’t understand what it was all trying to build up to.

The characterization of most of the MC’s are fine, nothing to really write home about. If I remember correctly, most complaints about the characters resolve on the “woobification” of Hyde, and whilst I agree with that to some extent, it’s not much of a big deal. Being as obsessed with the original as I am, I will always have some sort of small dislike with each version.. but I do like the stories that aren’t just a 1-1 copy! All in all, I just wish the story was a bit more coherent and less all over the place (in my humble opinion)
