Notice how whenever you bring up James bullying Snape, people are always quick to point out Snapeâs actions and make Snape look worse so they can uplift James? They never bring up any discrimination or trauma James faced when he bullied Snape. The only way for them to defend him is to mitigate his actionsânot by bringing up the circumstances he was under, but by making Snape look bad so they can pretend he âhad it coming.â
Usually, when you bring up a characterâs wrongdoings, their fans are quick to explain their behaviour by bringing up what they went through that led to said wrongdoings. With Draco, theyâll say âbut he was raised and spoiled by his blood prejudiced parents.â With Sirius, theyâll say âbut he was wrongfully imprisoned and emotionally stunted by Azkaban.â With Snape, theyâll say âbut he was severely bullied and had abusive parents.â With Remus, theyâll say âbut he came from a marginalised community.â What can they say about James? What possible explanation is there for his wrongdoings? What hardships or emotional distress did he face during that time that might resonate with some readers?
James was as privileged as one could be, he was a rich, white, good-looking, pureblood, smart, athletic, and popular Gryffindor who was loved by his parents. His fans, knowing this, will do everything in their power to twist the narrative and victim-blame 16 year old Snape, just so they can argue that all the bad things James did to him were well-deserved.
Jamesâs insane privilege is what makes his character so notably cruel, because, unlike some characters, he had EVERY opportunity to be kind to his inferiors. And he failed miserably.
#007 - Fenrir Greyback
He used to have a name that meant something. A surname that carried weight, a father who spoke it with pride. That was before the bite, before the moon decided what he would become.
Now, he wears monster like armor.
The first time someone called him an abomination, he laughed so hard his ribs ached. The word had been spit at him by a trembling Ministry officer who still smelled of cologne and fear. Fenrir couldâve torn him apart, but instead he leaned close and whispered, âYouâre not wrong.â
Because he is. He knows it.
Thereâs no redemption in what heâs doneâchildren turned before their time, families shattered, the copper tang of blood clinging to his beard. He tells himself itâs revenge, that the curse should spread until no one can pretend it doesnât exist. But the truth is darker.
He enjoys it.
The hunger, the chase, the power. The way his victimsâ terror mirrors the fear he once saw in his own reflection.
When heâs aloneârarelyâhe wonders if the wolf feels the same. If it, too, despises the man wearing its skin.
The moon rises. The bones break. The voice in his head grows louder, a familiar loverâs whisper.
Abomination.
He doesnât fight it anymore. The word has become sacredâan acknowledgment, a hymn. It belongs to him now.
By dawn, the ground will be slick with whatâs left of another life. And Fenrir Greyback will stand over it, chest heaving, bloodied and triumphant, looking every bit the creature they named him.
Because heâs learned something the rest of them havenât:
Monsters donât need forgiveness.
Just a sketch of a very violent Wolfman who needs a good shower and shave, among other things...
