i typed out a post about how they shouldn’t be singing the anthem but then they started and i changed my mind

something i find very interesting is that it seems like a majority of the audience of this wpbl game are women. and like ig i should expect that, but i (not a woman) like baseball and i am excited to see it opened up professionally to the other ~half of americans, not just bcs of feminism and the furthering of women’s rights and so on (though that is obviously a factor), but because more baseball is always a good thing. and idk i feel like if everyone felt that way then the audience demographics would be similar to mlb games, but that does not seem to be the case. obvs men’s perception of women’s sports has not always been the best. or perhaps the women were just more eager and bought tickets first. but hopefully more men will also appreciate the wpbl. (though i suppose there is also an argument that a woman will get more out of going to a wpbl game than a man, in which case slay. but maybe i am overthinking this all.)
