【Darkened blues rose from the blade in his lap, turning their focus to the eager child.
His expression remained flat, the better to hide his displeasure. For two reasons. The question of how he knew the dragon’s name would remain unasked, although he could not help but feel a little insulted for it. Such only worsened when it was revealed that it was she that told Seere of the day’s significance. How tempted he was to tell Seere to just go, to forget what he was told. How tempted he was to raise his blade against the Red Dragon for divulging such without his permission. With little enthusiasm did Caim accept the makeshift present, yet it took a moment for his eyes to look to the object itself as he carelessly tore at the impromptu wrapping.】 “……?” 【He pried it open, skimming the various drawings and writings along the pages. Shoddily executed but very clearly done with care. …But what was all of this?】 …A lesson book? 【Caim clapped the book shut, his eyes upon Seere once more.】
Seere nodded, chewing his lip in nervous excitement as Caim looked over his gift. When asked, the boy nodded again. “Yes! To help you talk to others when they can’t hear you! Mother taught me some of it, but I could only draw from memory so...I did my best to write what I remembered!”
And maybe added his own that made sense to himself, at least. “We could teach the army too! Then we could all understand each other!”
“Caim!”
The young boy had hurried to the swordsman eagerly, clutching something to his chest. “I, um!! Have something for you! Angelus mentioned it’s a special day for you so-!”
Wrapped up in leaf litter to the best of his ability in an attempt to look like a present, he held up the book shaped object. Inside would be Seere’s attempt at creating a sign language for Caim, with the best drawings a six year old could muster. He spent a lot of time on this.

(Sanctus-Ventus) As soon as it had opened, a powerful, magic gust of wind immediately shot the large book from Seere’s hands and cast it away into the distant woods. The culprit, a nicely dressed man not much taller than Caim, seemed quite pleased with his work, casting a friendly nod in Seere’s direction as if he had done him a great favour. “Hello there, little one,” Jonathan greeted kindly, even going so far as to offer a friendly wave of greeting. “What you had there was a dangerous weapon — Literature. You must be careful not to fall into it’s temptations in the future. If a boy such as yourself were to fall victim to its trap, it would be unimaginable. Please take care not to read it again.”
"Huh? What--" Seere ahd been so confused and startled by the gust of wind that he was looking upwards as if he expected the red dragon. When he heard someone else on ground level, though, he tilted his head at the stranger and quickly stood up. "W-weapon? I don't...understand." The young boy's eyes began to water as he shook his head and hurried towards his book. The Little Hero was not bad! He clutched it close to his chest, slightly red faced and teary eyed. "You don't know anything!"

He is watching. And he is judging.

After Seere had happily figured out how to drink the sugary blue beverage from before, no sooner was he offered some other treat. He picked up the bright green one, since it had caught his eye the most. He could feel Golem hesitating behind him, as if worried about something. "It looks unusual, but maybe it's a gift from the gods!" The child then managed to pop open the contents, feeling the spherical candy between his fingers. He remembered seeing sweets like this back at his old village. Seere placed the hard candy in his mouth. At first it was sweet, the flavor confusing his tastebuds, until the sour really kicked in. His cheeks puckered and he waved his arms in front of his face in an almost panic. Had he been poisoned??? He eventually spit it out and blushed in embarrassment. "I - that was strange..." He'll try a different one.
//Seere. My groovy little lad, you deserve a treat.
"I've never seen anything like this before! It feels a little like wax...hm, time to give it a try! It's the bluest water I've ever seen. Thank you very much!" He has no idea what groovy needs. He is not prepared for the amount of sugar he is about to receive.
Seere returned with Golem after foraging for mushrooms. He made sure they matched the important pictures in his book, excited to show everyone. He’s returned to chaotic drama....
“...did I miss something? Everyone’s so tense. Why don’t we make some mushroom soup instead!”

If you'd known how much hurt Manah was going through because of your mother, would you have tried to stand up for her?
"I w-wanted to stop Mother, but she wouldn't do it when I was around. I always...found Manah in the aftermath. I'm so sorry!"

“Wow! Congratulations! They’re so big! How long until they hatch...?”
“I suddenly have a very bad feeling for my past self...”
infertilehunger:
Arioch pouts as she starts follow Golem and Seere. “No, don’t take him from me! Seere! Dear Seere! Only I can protect you! From everything! BRING HIM BACK. BRING HIM BACK! BRING HIM BACK!”
Ever seen a giant rock monster run? Well, everyone will get a chance now. Golem picked up his pace and did not look back, while Seere clung to his stony shoulder with alarm. “G-Golem!”
Bye Arioch.
infertilehunger:
“Seere! Sweet little Seere! Please come down! Let me protect you!”
He was so very confused. Golem was not having any of this, though, slowly turning to walk away from Arioch. “Protect me from what? What is going on, Arioch? Golem won’t listen to me...”
Golem did not want to put Seere down today for some reason. The boy was a little frustrated, given he was a good distance away to what was going on around camp and wanted to find out, but his pact partner was insistent he stay here on his shoulder.
“Is everyone alright? Do they need our help?”
“No. Seere stay.”
A small gasp. He didn’t know Leonard would do something like that! Poor Caim. Who would win??
don’t ask me why I thought of this but it’s late at night and i’m listening to music and i just want to...like, imagine an AU where Seere didn’t make a pact with Golem and instead just became his friend so he didn’t lose his Time but he still kind of goes with Caim and gang? i mean he still has the ability to summon golems so a+ team member And Seere decides to grow up to be a Bard to tell the story of the group. Maybe he tries to help Manah’s public image down the line, since I doubt he was too thrilled with Caim and Angelus’ plan but was too young at the time to really comprehend everything.
Seere processing all the trauma through music tho and his slow donning realization that it wasn’t such an Idealized “Saving the World” that he thought. Would he write Taylor Swift-esq burn songs about each member adsfg
