More or less the beginning of my Christmas break.
My first article led me to this question, "Are you doing what you love?" My answer: Yes, definitely. ♡ (at Local Edition Coffee & Tea)

Well, this made me smile. You’re sweet. Let me share with you a quote by Franz Kafka, “For myself I am too heavy, and for you too light.” Thank you for reminding me to look at life at a different perspective. Good luck on your journey in this life as well. Hope we could be friends, one day! ♡

Woke up a little bit too early to catch a glimpse of the sunrise and to get this shot. This photo is composed of standing up on a desk chair, positioned a little bit too close to the hotel window, and tons of tiptoeing.
It's only been a few hours since I got here and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to capture these photos. I pinky swear I'll make use of my d-slr tomorrow!
Everything's going to be okay, right?
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
This is not the first time I have come across this quote by either Plato or Ian Maclaren. I felt the need to tell someone (if anyone is reading this entry of mine) about what I encountered in class yesterday. The quote above reminded me that this holds true in our everyday lives, but in most cases, we are unaware and too caught up in our own little bubble.
Yesterday, my classmates and I were having an ordinary class encounter in one of our finance subjects. Taking a quick look around the classroom, you would find some students listening intently in class, dozing off, playing with their gadgets, and some chattering the hour and a half away. But, amidst everything, there you can see my professor standing on the platform, scribbling down formulas on the blackboard for us understand. Aside from that, he was armed with a remote control for his prepared PowerPoint presentation. (As always) As the class drags on, some of my classmates begin complaining saying that they cannot absorb the lesson any longer, others would start making comments saying they wish the class was free-cut instead and they would study on their own, rather than to listen to our professor. It can't be avoided, I thought. We cannot please everyone.
Unexpectedly, thirty minutes before the class ended, our professor announced a way for us to gain incentives so we could pull up our grades, seeing that finals are coming soon. Out of nowhere, he began opening up to the class that his wife has lung cancer. The class fell silent then, and I was certain at that moment that my classmates wanted to take back their harsh remarks after hearing about that. None of us knew and there he was every single meeting doing his job, teaching every single one of us in the room the best way he could. He would be late a couple of times, but he was still there.
It was heavy feeling learning about that. You have to admit that on most days we think about ourselves and we do not think even think about what is happening to the lives of others. We fail to understand why they act the way they do or why they are the way they are. We are only human, but what happened in class was a perfect reminder to be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Night is when thoughts that hide in sunlight finally appear.
Torn between being a good student and a happy-go-lucky teenager.
