The world could be so beautiful

Katherine Mansfield, from a diary entry featured in The Letters & Journals of Katherine Mansfield
the sexiest thing u can be is casually kind and unconditionally gentle btw
If youāre a giver, I hope you surround yourself with other givers. Takers will have their hand out to take until you have nothing else to give & then youāre the bad guy.

Immortal Consequences: 4/10 seems a bit too generous, a handful of 6/10 and 7/10 chapters while the rest are all 2s and 3s
lots of potential, thatās unfortunately wasted. great world building, characters lack depth, their interactions are meh and the plot feels both?? too slow (begins to make sense and stitch itself together about 400 pages in) and too rushed (author flips from one of the dozen main characters pov to the next oneās pov haphazardly) which in hindsight is disappointingly impressive
book 2 comes out in just under two months wonāt be pre-ordering but might tap back in at some point in the future
The previous book kind of dashed my hopes of finding a decent author but i fucking love how wrong James Islington proved me with Will of the Many. Ran through the entire thing in under 24 hours, even took my kindle to the beach with me - i just couldnāt leave the plot behind šµ
9.999999/10 and easily my favourite book Iāve ever read (10/10 is reserved unfortunately and itās not for a book)
depth, sophistication, intrigue, world building, tons of humour and out loud laughter, research that made me put the book down every so often to ensure Iām not moving on without potentially key plot details and a super annoying cliffhanger that immediately made me purchase book 2š (and made me realise book three isnāt out year and I should probably pace myself through this volume but to hell with all of that also also alsooo this same author has another trilogy thatās already published/completed so Iāll happily segway onto that after this - whoever this guy is he clearly and very very skilfully knows his way around being an amazing author - having said that though Iām now praying book 2 doesnāt fail to live up to my super high expectationsā¦)
chefs kiss š¤š½ SotF is just as good as if not better than WotM, Iāve just spent an hour going down a ton of rabbit holes on the ending and what a bunch of vague clues from book 2 could lead to in book 3
halfway through tSoWWL and it's interesting comparing his earlier work to his latest work, same author and a decent read so far but just younger ig and not the same flair and penmanship i've come to enjoy from him recently
Just finished book 3š
10/10 masterpiece despite book 2s stupid pace but I suppose thatās literally what a trilogy is hook line and sinker - props to Islington š
