im trying very hard to think of what a jaspearl fusion weapon could be except for like. a narwhal situation

i thought of the halberd and similar concepts, but it feels a little too… easy? you can combine almost any weighted object with pearl’s spear and make a halberd, and it doesn’t really significantly change her fighting style. true fusion weapons always change how you fight in some way. you don’t use a hammer the same as as a spear or gauntlets, and you don’t use a wrecking ball or bow & arrow the same way as a whip.

the best synthesis examples of this concept are rainbow & smoky quartz - a yo-yo is COMPLETELY different from a shield, as is a parasol.

the only exception to this is malachite, who uses her arsenal separately because she’s always one dominant and one subjugated person… but even then, how jasper uses lapis’ water powers is different to how lapis uses it. lapis is more experienced and creative, so she’s more prone to making grand structures. jasper is more direct and new to water powers, so she’s using it in very blunt, obvious ways that mimic how she would fight on her own - bigger water hands to grab and contain people, ice to stab and crush, wings to fly.
