[quest] Complicated Tools, a quest where you have to do ten hand studies. I don't know if these count as studies, but here are ten hand drawings anyways!
Exercise 40: A Four by Four Drawing
And with this, I'm done with Betty Edwards' book. Now onto Scott Robertson's. Expect lots of botched up perspective drawings and vehicles, apparently.
You should do some construction studies, and learn the proportions of the face(loomis) The "basics" that you're studying now are pointless in my opinion. It's filler bullshit they feed you in art school. Your main priority should be perspective, so you can understand the volume/mass of the objects that you're drawing. If you can nail that down everything else should come naturally. Scott Robertson's books are the best I've seen. You should download them. Good luck bro.
Thanks anon, I'll check Scott Robertson's books out, and see what I can do about perspective.
Exercise 39: An Imaginative Drawing Based on Leonardo da Vinci's Advice
So I joined UnmotivatedLosers on Deviantart today, and did the first quest: my self-portrait. 220 imaginary points for me, yay!
