it's aro week so here's a quick reminder to all my fellow aros that you don't have to "make up" for being aromantic. You don't have to love your friends twice as much to "make up" for romantic attraction you don't have to have a wide family you don't have to find The One in a qpr instead. If those things are something you want, go for it! But you shouldn't have to feel forced to go into any relationship just to make your aromanticism more palatable to outsiders.

Aromanticism isn't a hole that you need to fill. Sure it's a lack of romantic attraction but it's not a lack of self. You're already full and complete, whether or not you have more or less love in other areas of life. Do what you feel is right for you, not what others expect of you.

I'm too much of a sucker for the tragedy of Wicked's ending to take any of this seriously, but the funniest possible fix-it concept is that Glinda just. Does not know. How the fuck. To send this 12yo back to Kansas. Like why the hell would she know how to do that?? Who thought it was a good idea to leave her in charge of this???

And from Dorothy's POV, this is such a funny concept: imagine for a minute that you (a child) wake up in a Fairy-Land, become best friends with a (possibly mentally unstable?) talking scarecrow, and are told by the god-kind that you must go murder his political rival before he'll send go home. Fine. This might as well happen.

And when you return from said murder - which is somehow successful - it turns out the god-king is a fraud and cannot help you. Whoops. Well, how about the OTHER seemingly most powerful person in the country? Ah, no....it turn out she had pretty limited powers in the magic department. And they're mostly bubble-related.

So she takes you (by bubble) to a tiny seaside town on the edge of the map to seek the help of her most powerful friends….the woman you just murdered and your scarecrow best friend who was an accomplice to that murder. And apparently, they’ve all three been dating since undergrad.

I mean, what do you even do with that.

 I imagine it would sort of mirror meeting Oz. Glinda leads Dorothy up the stairs to a castle and is met with fireballs and ghostly apparitions shrieking to turn back while you still can.

Glinda, totally unbothered, holding Dorothy's hand like a parent who's kid is spooked by trick or treaters: Elphie, the shoes don't work.

"Fooor the spirit of the Wic-" (ghosts stop mid sentence, dead witch Dorthy killed appears with her hair in a messy bun and an apron that reads "This is going to be Wicked Delicious)

Elphaba: What do you mean the shoes don't work??

Glinda: Kid's still here. (Motions to kid who would rather be anywhere, literally anywhere else)

Elphaba: Glinda… why would the shoes make the kid- wait, you were going to let her keep the shoes??

Glinda: I had to! Her aunt and uncle are too poor to afford mourning!

Elphaba: Why can't they afford the morning? Does the sun not rise without monetary compensation in…

Glinda: (helpfully, cutting Dorothy off, who was about to explain mourning) The star of Cans-ass.

Elphaba: … How is there a morning on a star? You live on a ball of fire, how do you notice when another ball of fire rises in the distance?

Dorothy: (trying to be polite despite whatever this is) If you please, Ma'am, Kansas is not a star, it's more like Munchkinland, with fields of wheat and-

Elphaba: Anyway, that's what the book is for, Glinda. You've got to figure this shit out, I can't always be there for you. (Dorothy has heard a woman swear for the first time in her life, This is strange on the level of a green woman who melts and apparently reforms without taking damage, and Dorothy decides this isn't a time for her to be speaking)

Glinda: Book doesn't work.

Elphaba: You're just not using it right, the book always… (Nothing in the book glows and now Elphaba is speechless)

Glinda: … Did you save the receipt?

This devolves into twenty minutes of magical "Did you try turning it off and back on again" before Elphaba realizes she's burnt her cookies to hell and Dorothy hears more terms, these ones things she's never heard a man say, before Elphaba finally begrudgingly invites them in.

Elphaba: gesturing to Fierro, then the giant hearth: How about a little fire, Scarecrow?
