Inspired by two of my favorite posts on tinyjjong
tiny jjong has a tummy ache. “i shouldn’t have eaten a whole froot loop” he whispers
tiny jjong receives a tiny pink ambulance as a christmas present from his roommates. as the tiniest emergency responder in the world, tiny jjong is on high alert for the tiniest cries of pain, and he races across the floor, tiny siren going wee-ooo wee-ooo, in his hurry to treat taemin’s latest paper cut
Taemin wakes that day to Jonghyun patting his cheek with both hands. He pretends to be asleep for a little longer just because of how cute it is, contemplates pretending to roll over, but his grin at the thought gives him away.
“Taemin, I know you’re awake!” Jonghyun says from next to his ear. He tugs on it just to make Taemin wince. Rude.
“Alright, what is it, Jjong?” He’s careful to keep his voice quiet, for Jonghyun’s tiny ears’s sake.
“I have a stomach ache.” Jonghyun sounds sick too, Taemin realizes. He sits up, lets Jonghyun climb onto his hand and brings him to eye level.
Jonghyun looks proud of himself, then even more sick. “Last night, I ate an entire froot loop! It was this big,” Jonghyun makes a wide circle with his hands, beaming, “but then I woke up and my stomach hurts!” he plops down on the palm of Taemin’s hand, pouting.
It’s so cute that Taemin can’t help the giggle that escapes him, but he stifles it because Jonghyun really does look sick. That, and he once spent an entire night making a trail of legos from Minho’s bed to the door for the whole soccer ball incident. Taemin does not want to be on the receiving end of that wrath.
It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon for them all - Minho is watching some sports game on TV, Kibum is doing something on his phone, and Jinki is making snacks, by the smell of it. Taemin’s flipping through his textbook in preparation for some test that they’ve been bugging him to study for (Taemin, of course, ignores them until the last minute) and he barely looks at Jonghyun when he asks Taemin to prop his phone up against the stack of textbooks.
Jonghyun drags his hand across the screen to unlock it and stands on his toes to reach the camera app. It takes some maneuvering, but he eventually manages to get a couple of pictures he deems good enough for Twitter. And that’s when he hears it - Taemin’s hiss of pain.
He turns and sees Taemin staring down at his finger, where a giant paper cut is. It’s probably the size of Jonghyun’s whole head.
“Taemin! Don’t move!”
Taemin decides to humor him, and it looks like he’s fighting a grin when he says, “Okay, hyung.”
Next, Jinki. Jinki’s coming back with popcorn and it takes a few tries to get his attention, but when Jinki is listening, Jonghyun says, “I need to go to my room! My ambulance!”
Jinki also looks like he’s trying not to laugh, but he lets Jonghyun climb onto his hand and carries him to his room and lets Jonghyun direct him to the tiny ambulance that Kibum had gotten him for Christmas. Jonghyun shoos him away then, and Jinki hurries out the room to tell Taemin to sit on the floor and don’t you dare clean up that cut yet, okay? Taemin rolls his eyes and complies only when Jinki promises him steak for dinner tomorrow, and then Jonghyun is racing around the corner in his tiny ambulance.
Jonghyun stops just in front of Taemin (who has laid himself out to make it easier for Jonghyun to reach his cut) and tugs out a bandaid and the tiny tube he’s painstakingly filled with neosporin. There’s a look of complete concentration on his face as he wipes Taemin’s cut clean, smears neosporin over it, and then covers it with a bandaid - it’s almost like Jonghyun is performing an operation, not taking care of a paper cut.
But when he’s finished, Jonghyun beams up at him, and Taemin decides that that smile made the wait worth it.
