Listen/purchase: tiny spells demos (august 2015) by tiny spells Totally back in the Tiny Spells game. Here are 16 new tracks (so far) recorded during August. The old 365 project is totally free to download now by the way, that can be found at https://tinyspells.bandcamp.com/album/11-days-formerly-365 This is again hopefully going to be a daily thing. My current plans are to master chiptune, master LSDJ, master the tracker program I downloaded for my old PSPGO and also program a videogame or two along the way too maybe.

Listen to: 011 Ghost House (02/12/2014) by tiny spells Tuesday 2nd December 2014 Whoops, I kind've lost a few weeks to feeling ill and playing videogames. i'm going to attempt to catch up over the rest of this month obviously. This track continues from the theme of the last track, there's a bendy square synth that I'm having a lot of fun with for making up lead melodies.

Listen to: 010 Kick! Punch! Run! (12/11/2014) by tiny spells Wednesday 12th November 2014 I started this out at around 110bpm, it had a nice bouncy vibe and sounded really nice. Then I put the tempo up and never went back. I think after the last few sleepy nights it's about time I go back to the upbeat energetic stuff.

Listen to: 009 Combinations (11/11/2014) by tiny spells Tuesday 11th November 2014 I tried making something more upbeat with the same sounds as the previous two tracks but I think I don't like it. Some nice ideas but this one is a bit of a late night mess really. At least I'm back on track! And you've got to get the rubbish stuff out before you get to the good stuff so this happened for a reason obviously.

Listen to: 008 Getting Really Good at Sleeping (10/11/2014) by tiny spells Monday 10th November 2014 I'm definitely lying about the date on this one - I made it up tonight (which is actually the 11th). I haven't really figured out the right procedure for when I fall behind on this thing. Let's pretend I made this yesterday. (In actual fact I just got drowsy working on the previous track yesterday) (In actual actual fact I got drowsy working on this track tonight). Really simple, just really relaxing.

Listen to: 007 Way Too Late (09/11/2014) by tiny spells Sunday 9th November 2014 The last few days are a bit blurry in terms of music - I started this on Sunday night, that's true. And I even continued work on it yesterday evening, but here's the thing - both times I kept getting lulled to sleep by listening to the track. It's really chilled out and I think I work on music way, way too late at night. It's nice though. Really nice.

Falling behind on posting these a bit, had a very lazy Saturday. This is a weird chiptune waltz, there's ideas there but I listened to a live version of hyperballad halfway through tinkering with it and now it's worthless to me.

If anyone knows how to quantise in 3/4 time on ableton I'd be very grateful.

I've had both of those things tonight, more specifically, a takeaway pizza and Infamous: Second Son on PS4. Both were really good, so here's a little upbeat piece of music. (It's very rough around the edges, I did some weird things where the melody doesn't match up exactly with the start of each bar and it threw some things out)

Had plans all evening so this was late happening (like, a day later). This is another potential STC idea, and it started life as several loops, and I just put it into a rough sequence this evening.

I'm definitely enjoying using Ableton for testing out how songs flow, and where different elements cut in or out.

Day 2 consisted of me making a few nice synth loops, slowing the tempo a bit, and then promptly curling up on a bed and falling asleep to them.

This is a recurring curse of mine - making music that is very relaxing and accidentally falling asleep to it.

So this is the first track on my 365 project.

Basically I have felt really unproductive over the last year when it comes to music, and I'd like to not feel that way about the next year too! So this is what I'm going for - 365 days, 365 ideas. I want to be working on music every day this year.

So track 1. I made the initial loops to this a few days ago, but hadn't given it much of a structure, so i've fleshed it out a bit. It's still very simple, but it might end up becoming a Sonic the Comic song I think.
