Where to Buy Cheap Used Textbooks

With school for many of us just around the corner we are beginning to feel the pinch. One of the biggest costs of course being textbooks. Even at our school’s bookstores the prices can be steep for used ones here are a few sites that sell used textbooks. These are sites besides the basic Amazon or Ebay though some may route you there.

Books2go.ca-This is the site I personally use. It’s a Canadian website where students buy and sell books from each other. Where you can pick the seller straight from your own school or from another school nearby. It’s also free to use if you want to sell your textbooks at the end of the semester. You also often don’t have to worry about other fees such as shipping because you usually meet your seller face to face.

Bigwords.com-On this American site you can buy, rent or sell. It compares multiple other sites and gives you the lowest price and then directs you to that site. So instead of checking multiple sites you can just go to this one. If you’re Canadian you may or may not be able to get the book shipped directly to your house it really depends on the final site given.

Textbookexchange.com.au-Obviously an Australian site, and with over 400,000 members there’ll likely be what you’re looking for. Similar to books2go the students buy and sell the textbooks and it takes 0 commission.

Usedbooksearch.co.uk-Though a British site it compares websites from the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Australia, and Spain as well as the U.K. so it’s very versatile.

Alibris.com-American site which can ship to Canada with a U.K. branch as well. This site you can buy, rent, or sell textbooks. It also gives you the option of buying new. This site isn’t just for buying textbooks you can buy/sell general books as well.

Another thing with buying textbooks with most you can go an edition behind or go from Canadian to American or vice versa though it’d be best to find out what the differences are between editions. For my philosophy textbook the only difference between the editions were name changes in the examples.

People always say to use heat for cramps but cold packs are the only things that work for me. Actually, almost anything I have can be fixed by cold things. Tummy aches, headaches, vomiting bugs, etc.

Some places may charge you something like ten cents for a paper cup, but if you are completely broke, just find another place. Most places will give it to you for absolutely free, including McDonalds, Burger King, Tim Horton’s and even high-end restaurants.

How to recover an unsaved draft on Microsoft Word

This literally saved my ass a few minutes ago. Yes, you can recover those files that you accidentally closed and thought you couldnt get back.

Right after that happens, open Microsoft Word again and click File - Info - Manage Versions - Recover Unsaved Documents.

It is literally that simple.

Using an Emotions List to help Label an Emotion

Some people are more adept at labelling their emotions than others. Some people just can’t seem to name what they are currently feeling. They might say that they felt bad or upset, but pinning down what that actually means for them is more challenging. Many people walk around in this kind of emotional fog.

Unfortunately, if you don’t know what you are feeling, you can’t do much to change it. People who can name their emotions are more capable of managing them, so it is important to become more familiar with your emotions and learn to identify them.

Once you are more capable of naming your emotions, you’ll have more choices in terms of what to do with an emotion if it makes you feel uncomfortable and you would prefer to at least reduce its intensity. Many people with emotion dysregulation grow up without learning this important information, so for some people it takes a lot of time to get the hang of naming their emotions. Be patient. If you get frustrated, reframe this process as if you are learning a new language. In fact, that’s exactly what is happening: you are learning the language of emotion.

Anytime you are unable to identify the emotion you are experiencing refer to the Emotions List. Reading through it, you should be able to find a word that closely describes the emotion that you are experiencing.

NO, DO NOT USE FLOUR, DO NOT USE FLOUR TO SMOTHER A FIRE.

YOU HAVE TO USE BAKING SODA.

Throwing flour into a fire can cause it to combust and make the fire worse because FLOUR/SUGAR IS FLAMMABLE. One cup of flour into a grease fire can have the explosive force of dynamite.

The reason you use baking soda is that it releases carbon dioxide when heated, and CO2 is a fire suppressant.
