Make sure that you have enough paper on the mat for what you're trying to cut. Oops.
Was looking at the replacement blades for the cricut, and looking at the blade it came with, and it was like, how does this even work? Do I need to buy housing for the blade? The housing is at least $20 and just the replacement blades with no housing were only $7 on sale. So google. Thanks to that, I found out...the button on the top? If you hit it, the blade can come out. And to put it back in, it just magnetizes back! Just be careful because sharp blade.
When cutting multiple colors...make sure that the proper color is on the mat before you cut it xD These colors are completely revered from the original idea because twice I didn't double check which part of the design was cutting. So always double check!
Learned this on a fb group...the maker has a storage compartment. I don't think it's for heavy things, since it has to be able to move up to close, but it's there!
What happens when anxiety and depression takes over and you just can't write anything? I wanted to use lockdown to my advantage but I'm not well and I'm sad. Any advice?
Just know you aren't alone in this. I've written a fraction of what I should have written, over the last 4 months. The anxiety is real, there are many things to be anxious and depressed about.
So be kind to yourself. Set yourself small targets and goals. Be happy when you succeed, and forgive yourself when you fail.
It's hard to do even in normal times, but think of it this way...even if you're only thinking about writing, sometimes just with that you've gotten something accomplished 🙂
Surprisingly, sometimes it's worth trying a brand not cricut (oracle, for example) for premium vinyl. It works on the same setting.
This is back from when I first opened the cricut and placed it on the dresser, but... absolutely make sure that it has the needed space behind it. The mat gets pulled through it, so it really does need the space behind.
Keep the mats covered by their plastic when not in use
Again, a kind of obvious one but... make sure that in design space the correct material has been selected!
I heard this one on a facebook group...to make the design not go all funny and out of place, before you hit the "Make" button, make sure to select everything and attach it. That way it all stays where you put it, and you only have to arrange it once.
This first one isn't really so much a tip as a warning. It probably goes without saying, but... the weeding tools are sharp. Be careful not to poke yourself!
