The first Sim-related questions!

Who is your favourite premade Sim across any of the Sims games and why?

Who is your current favourite Sim in your gameplay? Show us a picture and tell us some more about them.

Do you play rotationally between families, or do you normally just play with the one Sim / family?

Do you play with premade Sims, or do you only play with Sims made by yourself (or other Simmers)?

It's a tough choice since I love a lot of premade sims! I would have to go with Stella Terrano though from The Sims 2. I just always enjoy playing with her in University and I like that she is pure alien (I love my alien sims!). I recall that she was always creative when I played her so she would always be painting with a high creativity skill. Also, I'm not sure if it is because she is an alien but, I found that most times, Stella gained skills a lot quicker than other sims which is cool.

I will skip this question because I am currently not playing any sims game (but I have been enjoying answering these questions on my blog).

I play rotationally in The Sims 2 since there is no story progression (unless I get a mod) and I love playing all the premades in ts2 so I don't mind there isn't any progression anyways. For The Sims 4, I would mainly focus on one household per save unless for example, the teen in the family ages up and goes to college and then I would play both households with progression and aging off. The Sims 3 was always me focusing on one household.

Again, I love the premades in ts2 so I mainly play with them and sprinkle in a sim or two of my own. For ts3, it was a mix of my own sims or if I didn't feel like creating, I would start with one of the premade households. For ts4, I mainly started a new save with a sim I created or I would get one from the gallery. I really only ever played with a premade if they happen to marry my sim.

Creative question this time! This time it's about stylistic choice in your gameplay. This one isn't suitable for those who don't use CC, sorry.

PLEASE do not trash the playstyles of other players in your response, this is not X Vs Y, this is 'how do you do like to make your game look?'

Do you consider yourself an Alpha simmer, Maxis Match simmer or Maxis Mix simmer in terms of the custom content you use? (On the off-chance someone doesn't know, Alpha CC is the hyper-realistic custom content and Maxis Match is designed to blend in as seamlessly as possible with the vanilla game's art style).

Do you use custom content that has real-life language text written on it, or do you like only having items with Simlish text?

Do you use a mod to change the colour / design of the user interface? If so, what design / colour is your UI with this mod?

Do you have a custom loading screen? What picture or design is on it?

I am a maxis match simmer since I prefer using cc that matches the in game aesthetic.

I only like items that use Simlish. Again, I like matching the aesthetics and having the item feel like it belongs in the sim universe.

No, I do not use any mod to change the UI.

I only opened my game to check something out in CAS. Specifically, something for the young adults at University so this sim was generated. I thought she was really cute so I gave her makeup, a different hairstyle and clothes. It wasn't my plan to make a new sim but here we are! I really like her. Also, if you have seen some of my gameplay screenshots, you can probably tell I like this hair 😅

I also love how great the sims look in Sims 2 without feeling like I need custom content! It is still nice to have default replacements for some CAS things though lol

What Sims challenges do you find most fun?

Have you ever compled a Sims challenge? (Legacy, ISBI, 100 Baby Challenge, etc)

Are there any challenges you'd like to try?

Are you currently in the middle of doing any challenges?

I really enjoy CAS challenges. More of ones that involve dressing up a sim relating to themes instead of ones where you have to create a new sim for each prompt. I mean, I do not mind challenges with creating sims when it's maybe a sim or two but beyond that, it can be a bit too much for me. I also do like some legacy challenges that are not very restrictive and have opened ended rules plus do not use all the packs or have alternatives if you do not own a certain pack.

I have completed the Extraterrestrial Researcher scenario in Sims 4 and some self promo for me here but I have posted all my gameplay from that here on my simblr if you want to check it out 😊

I think I will have to look into more CAS challenges that I can try out in Sims 2

Not playing any challenges currently. I actually haven't played any sims game for awhile now. Just been enjoying other games

Simblr, Let's Get Talking! 25th Apr '26 - #2: Build/Buy or CAS?

Do you spend more time making Sims in CAS or more time building or decorating lots? Tell us why if you can.

I definitely spend more time in CAS. For Sims 4 specifically, I love all the customization options to truly make unique sims compared to older games so I give them credit for that. It's what I miss when playing Sims 2. It's also so fun to create all the outfits for your sims and dress them up with custom content. I also loved doing lookbooks and CAS challenges. I haven't done any of that in awhile because I have no motivation to play Sims 4 but maybe I can do a challenge or lookbook with Sims 2.

I have never been good at building and even though there are some nice tools to help with it, it's something I'm never interested enough in doing. I'm okay with decorating lots but it takes me forever and I personally dread it sometimes. Like, I will take a break from a save if it's time for my sims to move because finding the right house takes forever and then if I eventually do find a house, I take a long time decorating 😅

So yeah in conclusion, definitely CAS for me

Sims 2 is my favourite! The game just has lots of nostalgia attached to it for me. I love a lot of the premade sims and neighbourhoods and the lore behind both of them are so interesting. I also love The Sims 2 on PS2! More great premade sims (some new and some from the PC version) and that one just has some really cool gameplay with the unique objects and just the vibe of that game is so good!

I can't just pick one! I really enjoy The Urbz for the DS. I still have a copy to play! Again, interesting sims and I love that you can gain reputation in the different groups. I love the missions you play as well and the story. I also can't forget about playing Moogoo Monkey! My fave mini game! I also love Castaway. I love that it's oriented towards having your sims survive while being stranded on an island and that they have to gather resources and craft with that. Also, the music is *chef's kiss* probably some of my favourite to listen to like I even added the songs to my Sims 2 game (I think some of them came with Bon Voyage but still added them lol)

I just saw some really cute recolors of this lougewear outfit from that slumber kit and was hoping to request for someone to bring them to the sims 2 only to find out that this outfit hasn't even been converted! Or at least the database doesn't show that it has been converted. Has anyone seen it or is willing to convert it please?

Side note: I remember asking for a conversion a few months ago but I can't remember which outfit it was so if I'm asking for the same thing again, sorry

I spent most of my day today watching all of season 1 of School Spirits. I got to say that the show is very interesting and I won't say anything else since I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I would watch more but I think I should give myself a break 😅
