My body is so completely broken. I’m 31 years old. I’ll be 32 in April. I already have a host of chronic illnesses and disorders I’ve carried all my life since I was an infant, a baby. More have been piled on as I grew up. I’m a #premie #multiple. I have an identical #twin sister. I have mental #illness. I have a cardiac condition. I have a neurological and nervous system disorder that is little understood. I have #invisible #disabilities. I have a #service #dog. My husband is also my #caretaker. He always means well but he doesn’t always understand. I can’t remember why I started typing this but I swear I had a point…

Why it's not just nail #polish/#lacquer. Why it's art therapy, why it's art. The beauty, for me, is in the process. I can't actually paint right now unfortunately, due to bad health/illness/disability circumstances. But in the meantime... I Wish I Could Paint Music...

I wish I could paint music...

The reason I say this, if anyone is interested, is partially because I can "SEE" the music as colors, lyrics are visual words in my head. Not visualizing or imagining the scenes the lyrics are describing, not that. The actual words to songs, and the actual sounds, melodies, and rhythms, the very parts that make up the music, I see them floating around me, I see them in my head, I see them when I close my eyes. They are an explosion of color... and I wish I could paint them.

The waiting is the worst part...

A year ago today, I started working at @Skype in Palo Alto, CA. I'll never forget the view, with amazing sunsets over the hills. My commute, on 280 from San Jose and back, had incredible landscapes that, despite the odd hours and horrible afternoon rush hour, will forever remain in my mind. Unfortunately Feb 10 would be the day I had to step down, as our lives would suddenly take an unexpected turn. I only worked there a short time, but it was overall a fun place with friendly people and a work experience that will be pretty hard to top. I'll never forget having to go over to Mountain View to get my ID from the CA Microsoft Head Quarters, it was a huge campus!

More #traditional #artwork from my #portfolio. These ones are #watercolor on the top two, and #prismacolorpencils for the bottom left, and #prismacoloroilmarkers for the bottom right. As before it's been a while since these originals have seen the light of day. Same plan as before, frame and display in our little apartment and hopefully in our house eventually. Unfortunately It has been too long a time since I've done any #originalartwork #art. Health issues have gotten in the way. It's very difficult now for me to work on traditional medium artwork, which is a huge reason why I do amateur photography now. It's also become hard to do digital work, but hopefully these new meds and changed doses will allow me to explore again. In the meantime, you're all stuck with pics of my nail art attempts as well as everyday life s5uff, and of ,ourse, tons of pics of @penny_the_corgi!

It's been a long time since I've set eyes upon my taditional artwork. These pieces were stored in my #art #portfolio. I haven't used my real life portfolio in a while, applying instead with my online portfolio (which features the same artwork plus a few extras). I'm glad I was able to bring these from my former home with my parents to my new home with my husband. When we can afford it, the plan is to frame my favorite pieces to protect and decorate our little rental apartm. Who knows, some day when we're finally able to buy a house,they may grace the walls of my studio in full display... #penandink #pen #ink #traditional #artwork #portfolio #art
