Summary:
Alastor, a naiad rather fond of venturing into the woods, is caught slaying a deer favoured by Artemis. His father is sent to consult an oracle, to determine appropriate punishment. On his return, he exiles Alastor to the mountains – where his real punishment, his monstrous, fated spouse-to-be, will come find him at nightfall. Alastor goes as bidden, and rapidly discovers that whatever monstrous traits his promised one may have, he may not lay his eyes upon. His fiance treats him well, all things considered, appearing in the evening to keep Alastor company at night, and vanishing at dawn. He only asks for one thing in return: that Alastor never seek to see him. An Eros / Psyche retelling.

Guys I had the incredible pleasure and honour of reading this fic in beta. I've always adored Greek myths and you know I love hazbin hotel.
When I tell you I was floored by how well Rouge manages to keep the essence of the myth intact while still adding so many poignant and unique twists. Her writing is incredible, I swear she improves from one word to the next, but it's downright magical here.
She's taken a rather passive character like Psyche and managed to incorporate Al into the role masterfully. He is anything but passive, if anything this rendition fixes everything I initially disliked about the original myth in a modern setting.
And the relationship grows so naturally, with relatively few words. Lucifer is beautifully done and I gasped outright several times. His backstory here, the culmination of the story, it had me by the throat.
As always, Rouge manages to outdo herself every single time she touches a keyboard. I'm so lucky to be along for the ride and strongly suggest you take this opportunity to read one of the best fic writers in this fandom.
