a common misconception
Having big feelings about these two
(For the 2,435th day in a row)
remember when cosette said she was leaving to england and marius was like “what. what the. no. no you’re not.” and cosette was like “well!!! just come with us” and marius just “what is wrong with you. what are you talking about. i’ve been wearing the same pair of pants every day for two months. do you really expect me to be able to go to england.” and then he slammed his head against a tree and stood that way for two hours while cosette cried
that… was not in the movie?
no but it should have been
truly a scene that merits illustration

Feeling normal about Javert and Eponine today

Tired: Enjolras sleeps in spine-wrecking positions because he’s a cat.
Wired: Enjolras sleeps in spine-wrecking positions because when he was shot out the window in 1832 that’s how he landed.
Anyway, happy Barricade Day.
Gotta say, I am living for the shocked outrage I’ve seen in the tags for this post!
Here’s the stills if anyone is interested in crying over 1832 Enj without it flashing back to what I picture to be Combeferre’s couch.
(Oh! Also, fun fact: that sooty handprint on his shoulder? That’s from Ferre giving it a reassuring squeeze in passing, which was - unbeknownst to either of them - the last time they’d ever see each other alive.)
and we are entering a tomb all flooded with the dawn
Children of the barricades who didn't last the night
"The day will come, citizens, when all will be concord, harmony, light, joy and life; it will come, and it is in order that it may come that we are about to die."

The fashionable audience that filled the theater last night might have stepped out of their limousines to attend the opening night of an all-star San Francisco theatrical production instead of the first night of a moving picture film of “Les Miserables.” The intense interest displayed in following the various scenes in the tragic life of Jean Valjean might have been accorded the substantial flesh and blood actors whose shadows on the screen held the house quiet through a two hour performance. “Les Miserables” is a forecast of what is to come in motion pictures and the introduction of the film in large theaters is but a hint of the artistic pinnacle toward which the industry is striding. The Victor Hugo masterpiece is displayed with more finish than any motion picture that has so far been shown, and its faults, which are only those of too much detail, are but the growing pains of an infant art.
Jean Valjean’s arrest for the theft of a loaf of bread for his starving mother opens the first reel and is followed by his subsequent escape from prison. Great care has been taken to make the costumes historically accurate and the scenes true to the author’s delineation. The picture’s story is sufficiently complete both to meet the demands of the people who know the book and to keenly interest those to whom the celebrated tale is unfamiliar. Remarkable photography and lighting add to the effect of the pictures and do much to aid in making it a performance worthy of a first-class theater.
so excited for the barbie movie
