i decided to redraw that old pic to see how much ive improved and yall i. i cant even say just how much seeing these two next to each other makes me feel....

i have been a fan of sonic since i was a child. in elementary, when i was hyperfixated on this series, and of course, it was all i drew and talked about for three years. i lost interest in middle school, until late 2018/early 2019 when i rediscovered this speedy blue boy and became hyperfixated on it again. it had been so long since i drew these characters, and looking at that first pic, it really shows how rusty i'd become. since then, i've had interests come and go, but i'd always stayed interested in sonic and tried my best to at least get better at drawing them again. this year, while i had many ideas for what to draw for my favorite hedgehog, including stuff like cake designs, a silly low energy comic, and even a finished full body w eggman, i had the idea of redrawing that 2019 drawing after seeing that cute sonic channel birthday art. so, i drew, and i looked back on the old drawing, and boy oh boy the emotions i felt seeing these two side by side. but the thing is, it isnt just my art thats improved. i know its silly to say, but this series about a blue hedgehog that runs fast has changed my life so much. i genuinely dont know how, but it did. and surprisingly, it changed me for the better. there are no words that express my love and admiration for this series, even thru all the hardships, the victories, and neutral in betweens. no words except;

thank you. thank you to everyone who made this series possible, who poured out so much love for these characters, who worked tirelessly to keep this series going on for 30 whole years. just.
