The Monk

If Carapace was a hella sea-themed monk in feudal Japan?? I had a bit of a hard time formulating this design but I thought carapace predecessors were the “rocks” to the miraculous gang – a being who would protect and always carry an assuring presence regardless of the obstacles ahead.  Hence, I thought a monk would embody such well-grounded values 💪🏻

 Given that my watermark has a fox on it, I sadly have to admit my bias toward this design lol. I was thinking Rena Rouge was some sort of warrior (spirit)? Idk I kept thinking of fox spirits while looking at feudal samurai armor so I think the design has elements of both said references loll 🦊⚔️

I assumed Queen Bee predecessors in general were people who would prioritize fashion over practicality so 5 inch geta slippers were a must to this redesign lol ✨

And the trend ensues lol. A bit similar to the canon chat noir, I imagined this predecessor was a mischievous/charismatic guy who relished in the freedom of the miraculous powers apart from his real-life responsibilities. His ideals thus channeled a looser design to allow more breathing room and fleeing opportunities lol

If ladybug (or her predecessor??) was a Miko just purifying feudal Japan I guess lol
.  Originally, I just wanted to redesign the mask to be more like substantial wooden masks but my art-deprived self just redesigned the whole damn outfit lol 🙉
