Nobody is doing it like pirates of the caribbean was doing it. The first movie spends 20 minutes introducing us to every main character, their thoughts on piracy, and how nuanced and fraught the subject is in port royal, and then proceeds to introduce the most pirate pirate to ever pirate
What is your nichest and hottest fandom take that everyone else agrees on but you think is bat shit crazy?
Mine is that Elsa from Frozen is not an INFJ.
fastest way to feel something again? rewatching 50% Off
finished watching Gary and now i wanna throw up and cry (complimentary) (heartbroken) (unwell) (devastated)
Me *banging my fist on the bar twice*: Been a rough day. Got something strong?
Bartender: Ayy my favorite custumuh! Don't worry. I got it right 'ere for you boss!
The bartender slides a windows 95 over, neopets.com is booted up and logged in, I visit the giant omelette which gifts me a bbq sauce flavor. Nine hours go by and I finally have enough points to paint my Quiggle with the pirate brush.
leoreturns:
I have been waiting all year to post this.
In corporate, if every new senior level hire isn't a pretentious asshole drinking $18 coffees brewed from something ironic like "angry riser", signing off on calls with the peace sign after negging their direct reports, and using their careers as a placebo for the crushing emasculation they feel in the 21st century then the shareholders will actually explode.
"I asked chat gpt" well I asked the voices and they all agree that you are fucking stupid
unbelievable that its 4/20 and absolutely nobody has put the objectively best rage comic on my dash yet. i have to do everything around here
runner up
this probably doesn't count as a rage comic but its up there
tadc finale ending theory:
no one is leaving except for pomni (or at least she's the only one with a body to return to/has the option to leave)
they learn to recreate "real" things and adjust their own code, it keeps them from abstracting
pomni gets out and adds more information to the system with kinger's help or maybe they have access to the internet and not just the circus
the abstracted ppl return to their former selves
this is the funniest and realest shit I've ever seen
congratulations to the meldon? langmel? langking? kingdon? whatever you call yourselves shippers. y'all were fed.
From "I'm not convinced that a part of you doesn't die every time you see a fellow human pass. And I've seen so many people die."
and
"Find somebody to help you dance through the darkness."
to
Putting on music and dancing rocking Baby Jane Doe to sleep. And saying...
"I got a good feeling that you're gonna be just fine. Everything's gonna be just fine. You got so many wonderful things to see and so many people to love ahead of you."
Langdon is a really healed (or at least healing) individual. And when you're a healed person, you make unhealed people extremely uncomfortable.
Robbie: Langdon reminds him that he hasn't sought help/shows him he can redeem his worst impulses and still be a successful doctor. Robbie doesn't want to be redeemed. He wants the "bad ending".
Santos: Langdon reminds her that she can't hate herself out of healing. She will be forgiven/valued if she lets her guard down. Santos doesn't want to be forgiven or vulnerable.
Whittaker: Langdon reminds him that he's let others walk all over him/call him mean nicknames. He uses Langdon as a punching bag for his lack of boundaries. Whittaker doesn't want boundaries.
Al-Hashimi: Langdon reminds her that some co-workers will never see beyond your illness and that she needs to be prepared to either be honest with her shortcomings and trust her team to hear the truth, or stay silent and suffer alone like he did. Al-Hashimi trusts Robbie with her illness--the alternate route that Langdon went where he was caught and condemned for it.
Langdon is like a drop of bleach on the petri dish that is the Pitt. The little germ doctors cannot handle how he exposes their lack of inner work.
