i just want to lay with another man, starry eyed and little tired from a long autumn day. the heat is on but we’re both dressed in big sweaters and comfy pants, cuddled up like it’s cold. there’s soft music playing and we’re just there, enjoying each other’s touch and company.
he’s tracing hearts into the skin of my side with gentle fingers, and he smells like home. there’s empty cups on the table and the smell of the desserts we shared earlier, and as i press my ear to his chest i count the beat of his heart to see if our pulses match.
we could both be anywhere else then, but we choose to be there, with each other.
