I like the dreamy quality of this song for Puff. There’s a lot of good imagery about altars and marrow there also which fits her, and this overall feeling of “I am not quite here, but other people are, and they are worth living for”

I love this song for Puff, because it starts with a forward talking about death and rot and finding important things despite and because of that. And then it switches into a 3rd person narration of a love story, still in that dreamy whispery voice the whole way through. So I always imagine it as Puff’s take on Finley and Mateo. like, this is how she experiences love (and love for Finley), at a distance, and it is no less important for that
