Although his lips were dressed in content, he still found himself asking the same questions. Naturally, when it came to understanding he did not need to implore the unknown to get his answers, for his gift of foresight made everything clearer. Being a mortal now, he was denied of this fortune and so for the first time, found himself treading on foreign grounds of thought. The idea the world itself was perhaps on pause or even ceased to exist altogether was one that troubled him, but the idea of a world undergoing cataclysms was even worse. “Perhaps,” he found himself muttering, “perhaps this is Gaia’s work. She is the only power capable of this, and she would be able to provide earth with its needs. Perhaps this is all on a much larger scale than ourselves?”
The titan raised a valid point. Nyx had not seen hide nor tail of her sister since becoming entrapped in this hell-mansion. She shuddered at the thought, however, knowing that if it were Gaia orchestrating all this, she must have gained some new strength to have captured her twin, her equal. “She is my sister. If Gaia was the being who had sealed us away, I would know. I would feel it...” As the words tumbled from her lips, it became unclear whether she was convincing herself or her companion. “With time and patience, all will be made clear,” she recited, not truly believing it.
