This is the dumbest thing I could talk about but I love the characters in KPDH having brown eyes
Like with this fantasy setting and colorful characters I wouldn't be too shocked seeing an Asian character with blue or purple eyes or some shit, but they chose to give them brown eyes and I think that's noteworthy
Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I don't rlly like the "Celine liked Miyeong" headcanon
I'll never ever be mean to anyone who likes it, but even tho I see Celine as either ace or a lesbian, I don't think her relationship with Miyeong was romantic, one-sided or otherwise
My reasoning here is, I feel like it tends to reduce Celine to a grieving lesbian instead of someone who is deeply repressed and traumatized
Obviously she was close with Miyeong, but I don't read it as romantic personally
But we have very little to go off of here 😅 so all headcanons are valid here! Just wanna share my own view

I used to dislike Golden, I saw it as the girls not being their true selves and it being a poor reflection of the story
But now I see it differently? I see it as just, a surface level idea of where Mira and Zoey are, and the place Rumi wants to be/gets to eventually
It's not a lie, just a starting point
Seriously wanna write a fic abt Rumi dissociating/sorta having some "reliving trauma episode" but thing is it'd be so heavily based on my own experiences that I don't think I can write it without triggering myself 💀💀💀💀
Polytrix au where Rumi is still raised and trained by Celine, but Mira and Zoey get found earlier by the Unnamed Third Sunlight Sister
Eventually, failing to complete the trio, both fragments debut separately—Rumi as a solo act, Zoey and Mira as a duo. It’s immediately clear what they’re supposed to be and they’re all obsessed with each other
But Third doesn’t hesitate to tell Mira and Zoey what Rumi is and that the feeling is a trick, and Rumi knows exactly what they’ll have been told, with Celine right over her shoulder begging her to be afraid enough to survive
And yet
The pull is still there
Like, Zoey pretends she only listens to all of Rumi’s songs as “knowing your enemy,” but Mira knows better. Still, she’s aware of how Zoey hates when people are angry with her, so she tries to swallow her initial response. (The conversation still doesn’t go well)
Mira can swear she’s angry that she was too slow the first time they run into Rumi at the same tear in the Honmoon—a tear she might well have caused—but it’s obvious to Zoey that she’s more shaken than she’s letting herself feel. (That conversation just doesn’t happen)
Rumi can know that they’re only being civil because of the multitude of eyes on them, but that doesn’t keep her from thinking about maybes, getting distracted as the morning wears on a little and Mira cracks a joke and Zoey looks at her like she’s saying ‘she’s hilarious, right?’ and everything feels like it should be—
(And then they all remember themselves)
Everyone keeps assigning Rumi tiger traits meanwhile I get major dragon vibes from her lmao
Rumi who's only ever called Celine by her name while calling Mi-Yeong and the Demon mom & dad + Mira who called her parents eomeoni & abeoji and has also been saying Celine, finally banding together on Mother's Day one year as teens to call Celine various forms of mom all day because it's funny and its pre meeting Zoey so they have veey little entertainment.
They start with Eomma (Rumi) & Maman (Mira), simple enough. Celine's french-korean so the names make sense. Mira very quickly devolves to just Mama and Rumi follows suit calling her Mama or Ma. The word Mom is thrown once by Mira while talking to someone other than Celine about Celine, and Rumi dramatically seeks attention by whining for Mommy with those huge ass puppy eyes.
They did it again on father's day, Rumi calling her Appa and Papa and Mira settling on Dad and sometimes throwing in a Daddy or Dada if she was being annoying.
It's a tradition that ends up going even after they meet Zoey (and drag her into it with her adding Mami to the mix because she calls her mother Eomma so it can't work for her and had to settle with Spanish)
Celine pretends to find it annoying but has been caught crying a few times when the girls do it. She doesn't know they all have her saved as their respective mom words (eomma, mama, mami) and she might explode if she does.
