Its January 16th and E-mail’s calling like it’s spring. Pretty cringe
This post will never not make me laugh
This pudgy little forest dweller is Ctenophryne geayi, or the brown egg frog, a species which spends much of its life trying very hard to be mistaken for a leaf. These frogs can be found throughout much of the northern parts of South America, and may actually represent a complex of multiple species requiring further classification. Images taken in the Amazon Forest in Brazil by Mauro Teixeira Jr.
With a dazzling smile and an exceptionally retracted neck, this lowland burrowing treefrog [also known as the northern casque-headed frog, Smilisca fotidens] was the star of a special photoshoot with National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore. This frog belongs to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
