Today, August 24, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of the release of Mockingjay. Fifteen years is the same amount of time that it took for Katniss and Peeta to agree to have their first child.
Toast Babies Week has started to celebrate Mockingjay's 15th anniversary and the Everlark family. This is running all week from August 24-30.
This celebration comes to you in two parts: fanworks and a charity fundraiser.
For the fanworks (including but not limited to fanfiction, fanart, fanedits, meta, headcanons, gifs, podfic, moodboards, and playlists) the following optional prompts taken from the meadow lullaby are:
August 24: Deep in the meadow August 25: Safe and warm August 26: Guarded from harm August 27: Dreams are sweet August 28: Hidden far away August 29: I love you August 30: The sun will rise

The other half of our event, and just as if not more important than the fanworks, is the Where Every Child Can Be Safe charity fundraiser. The toast babies are more than a ship ending up as parents, they are the embodiment of a world where every child can be safe from hunger and violence. For our event, we are promoting the following children's charities:
Palestinian Children's Relief Fund
Save the Children
UNICEF
GLSEN
Donate to these and email the receipt to fuhrgames74[at]gmail.com. The top three donors will be receiving either the illustrated edition of Catching Fire or special collector's edition of Sunrise on the Reaping and the top donor will receive an art commission in addition.
