Lepidus drove his Warblade slowly, painfully through his forehead and then collapsed, dead.

[Only joking. I kinda think it’d be best if we wrote Lepidus out of the RP though, just because I’m not nearly active enough to play him. I’m sorry guys ;-;]

Vehi didn't say anything, but simply nodded to signal his agreement on the need to get moving. What business could he possibly have left here, in this ravaged city?

But why did they go looking for a boat underground? Surely there was at least one in working order closer to the coast.

Vehi lookd over at Jhedu and the newcomer. It looked like something managed to get stuck in the ice after all. Stepping towards them, he looked at the object that was causing the holdup. A gun.

"Stand back." he muttered, tapping the ice above the weapon with one of his picks to set his aim before sharply swinging it down, causing a web of cracks to appear in the ice.

Vehi's face remained expressionless as the other toa slipped and stumbled on the ice. Well, at least everyone had been smart enough to heed his warning and didn't end up stuck to the ground like the energy hounds. Satisfied that the rahi were safely immobilized, the toa of ice lowered his tools, only to be nearly knocked over by Jhedu. As much as he hated to admit it, the hug caught him off guard. Stepping back, he looked around at the others, pausing on Neelh and finally settling on the strange toa right as Jhedu asked the question that had begun forming in the ice toa's mind. Rauta, huh? And what exactly brought him, and everyone else at that, in to these tunnels? He was pretty sure that it wasn't because they wanted to look at the local wildlife.

"We should move" he finally noted "before the ceiling caves in or something nastier decides to come along " The last part was punctuated with a brief, but pointed look at the other toa as if saying that if that were to happen, they would have only themselves to blame.

One, two, three, four. Four toa. One more than he'd remembered seeing on this island. So there was someone new. Four toa. And a pack of energy hounds. It seemed that the rahi weren't proving to be too much of a problem, but unless this fight ended quickly, it wouldn't really matter as some of the others' rash attacks would bring the entire tunnel down on their heads. The rahi hadn't seemed to notice him yet, being preoccupied with the other toa, and that suited him just fine.

"Jump!" Taking his own advice, Vehi plunged his picks in to the water, channeling his elemental energies through them and turning the water to ice. While he could have frozen the rahi completely, Vehi had no desire to waste time chipping out anyone who failed to heed his warning. The water was deep enough to hold the rahi, and that was good enough for him.

Easily landing on the ice, Vehi withdrew his tools, keeping them raised in case some of the energy hounds had managed to avoid his trap.

Vehi froze as the noise reached his ears. At first, he took it for the scurrying of some rahi, but as he listened, he began to make sense of the clamor. There were definitely rahi up ahead - only a rahi would growl like that - but there was something else.Footsteps, voices. Toa. Vehi recognized one of the voices. It belonged to one of the other toa he had met. What was she doing down here? She didn't seem to be alone. Judging from the footsteps, and voices he'd heard, there were several others down here, perhaps three or four. Some of the other voices were familiar too. The rest of that group.

But it seemed like they had some trouble right now. Large trouble, judging by the growling. And it seemed like he would have to help. Whether or not he enjoyed teaming up, he couldn't just sit around idly while other fought. And anyways, they might know a way out of here. These dark, stuffy tunnels were really beginning to get to him. He never did understand how someone could bear spending days in them, let alone living there.

Now then, if the rahi was occupied with the others, he had the advantage of the element of surprise, so long as he could move quietly enough to remain unnoticed. And so long as none of those loudmouths spotted him and gave him away. And...he looked down at the water sloshing at his feet. Yes, with a little application of his elemental powers, he could use that to his advantage.

Carefully, the toa of ice made his way towards the noise.

Well this was certainly an unpleasant situation. After having been separated from his companion Vehi had the honor of nearly coming face to face with a rather unhappy kane-ra. Not wanting to take his chances with the giant bull in an open area, the toa of ice sought shelter in a deep fissure in the ground. He found himself in a tunnel; part of the archives that extended beneath the city. With a large, enraged rahi above him blocking his way back out, and threatening to fall in after him, and bring down the ceiling along with it, Vehi finally decided that the safer, and more efficient course of action was to follow the tunnel and locate an alternative exit. Yet as he walked, the toa of ice began questioning the wisdom if his decision. The tunnels seemed to have no end to them and more than once did he have to evade or fight off its current residents which seemed to lead him even deeper in to this underground maze.Perhaps it would have been better to take on the kane-ra than wander through this labyrinth with only his mask and a lightstone - a perfect way to give away his position- to alert him of incoming danger. Who knew what kind of creatures were lurking in these tunnels?

Unconsciously, his mind drifted to the others. Had they left without him, or were they waiting for him at the Coliseum? But then, why did he care? It wasn't like he couldn't take care of himself. He had done just fine on his own before he'd met them. And anyways, he still had himself to worry about here. He had no intention of being stuck in these tunnels for eternity.

"Or we could both contemplate our own futures and be done at that" Vehi suggested. " Or the stars, the city, the rocks, whatever suits your fancy." What ever gets you to shut it. Unless someone had something intelligent to say, he usually wasn't interested. And from personal experience he'd concluded that most of what others wanted to talk about did not constitute as intelligent. Not by his standards anyways.

Vehi fell in step with the other Toa "Does it matter?" This was one of the reasons he didn't like company. They always asked questions, questions that were completely irrelevant to the task. And a lot of them got upset when he didn't feel like answering them. Might as well address that now before the other Toa had a chance to complain. "What's past is past. Why bother with it?" And why bother recalling a life you can never go back to? The Toa of ice thought to himself. The past was the past. He couldn't do anything about it. Only the future was susceptible to his desires.

"I prefer to walk on my own, thank you." He barely even knew this guy. What reason did he have to trust him on something like that? Po-metru wasn't that far away anyways. A short walk wouldn't hurt.
