Photography Compulation: Nature on Campus

Type: Physical Reason: Freshmen Year Art Foundation Class Final- ART 1230 (Structure) Professor: Mateo Galvano Description: This is my portrayal of conformity. The white figures are the ones that have blended in with each other and stay in their straight lines while the black figure differentiated from the white. Many aspects are varied such as color, length of string, height, and number of strings. If I could showcase this again, I'd like for it to be shown in a completely white walled gallery room. The white figures will blend in with the walls and emphasize conformity. This project was inspired by Tara Donovan on her usage of household materials and making them into beautiful sculptures. Materials: Coffee filters (some painted black), plastic bowls painted black and white, black and white sewing string, black and white beads (tied into the strings to keep the cones from sliding down the string), glue, tape, and 3M hooks for hanging. This final was showcased at Ohio University in class on 11/30/15

Description: Made this for my midterm assignment. I had to somehow include the words:Enclosure, Float, and Mystery. My picture is of a frog who ate some radioactive flies, blew up like a balloon and is now floating away. The flies are enclosed inside his stomach, he’s floating away, and the mystery is why are there radioactive flies and why is the frog so okay about this? Haha. I call it: You Are What You Eat

(Click for a better look) Type: Physical (Acrylic on paper and glued down pieces of a book) Reason: Sketch Book Filling Description: Filling out a sketch book for college. Sorry for the weird uncropped photo. First did a sketch, glued down the pieces of book paper, painted the right page, drew in the flowers a d painted those, and then outlined it in sharpie. Kind of a way to express the fact that my thinking can be a cluster.

Description: Original picture was not taken by me. A friend of mine and his girlfriend wanted to commission me. I took the picture, edited it into my most recent/popular abstract form, and painted it onto a 16in x 20in canvas. I sold it to them for $30 due to the fact that I didn’t have to buy the canvas. My usual for this size would be $45.
