Finally, after months, I have finished these. A long time ago now, I'd made my original templates but didn't really pay any mind to how gendered faces really are, and how inconsistent they are between each age. I love the Maxis faces, I just wanted them to look a little less lumpy, and to replace ones that I felt were redundant. Basically, I hated that with any given template, I couldn't really tell what a sim was going to look like as an adult because every face looked different at each stage!
So today I bring to you my less gendered Maxis Match templates, where I have chosen which face I felt was more iconic and matched the other gender with it, and then made every age look more like that template (including baby faces).
Martin Ruben can be a good example:
Yeah, sure, the eyes are the same, but that's pretty much where the likeness ends. A lot of the templates will do this, and some of the female faces suffered for it (jaws were outlawed on females in 2004, didn't you know?)
They aren't perfect but they're miles better than the originals! I also think they bring a lot more variety to faces, because I did notice that a lot of the templates would use face parts from entirely different templates! Face 2's eyes and face 1's nose are really popular, as well as yeeting jaws and chins out the window.

If you noticed in some of the pictures, the ears clipped through a few hairs, and that's because I also took the liberty of adding custom ear shapes to almost every face. No, it didn't occur to me to change the hairstyle I picked for photos until I was already on face 18 and didn't want to start over.
These aren't perfect, and maybe someday I'll go over them again to change more minute details, but for now, I'm very happy with how they turned out!
Please let me know if there are any issues, I triple checked everything but I probably missed something somewhere.

I think I had face blindness from doing so many of these faces at the same time because faces 8 & 10 ended up looking too similar, so I have updated face 8!

And I was wondering if you still plan to finish the baby face versions of the defaults on your request list? Just curious because I use some defaults from the request list (like the Pooklet and Rented-space ones) and I would love to have them with babyfaces at some point. I do plan on finishing the faces, but I’m unsure when — I’ve been going through a tough time lately, and especially over the last week I where I also haven’t had access to my PC at all which I’m sure you can understand makes it impossible to do anything 😭
When I do get back to it I am prioritising the sets that people have asked for the most, and if anyone makes a set in the meantime I’ve been updating my list and linking to their post (so if anyone has completed any of the sets on my list, please let me know!)

The "Revale" face templates are pretty neat, it would be awesome if you could add infant faces to them

I started making the infant templates while I was off work because it was something I was very passionate about at the time. I very much still am, but I have also returned to work and I barely have enough time to play never mind make templates 😭
I have closed my requests for the time being but I do hope to get back to it soon!

Important info:

Also, if you don't mind answering another question:
I assume that using sliders on a sim won't alter an infant's face but what about that bodyshop function that blends face templates?
Ex: I randomized a sim with face #4 and while editing them in bodyshop and they ended up with a face that is 50% face #4 and 50% face #10. It's safe to assume an infant clone of them would have only face #4? Or 50% of each?
I guess it would only work with the primary face (in this case face #4) but i think it wouldn't hurt to ask. I rather have an infant have some resemblance to their parents them none, so your templates are welcomed anyway!

Hi! I usually don’t answer the requests until I have the files ready but I thought I’d answer your questions first and I’ll make a separate post when I have your request ready :)
Sliders do not work on infants, no. The game goes off of the templates only, but the good news is that as far as I can tell,, blending two face templates together does work! I have only tested this with the CAS version, eg. Right clicking on the templates in CAS to blend templates together. I’m not sure it works from body shop, but I imagine it does? More testing needed!
So say you make a sim with face #4 and then use the feature to right click to mix it with another template (either full face or certain features like nose, mouth etc) then as far as it can tell it still works!
The only issue is as it always was with infant faces, this will only work with new sims you make after you install the faces - I hope that makes sense!
