Judgement Day progress shots, part 1

Definitely my favorite shot. I did 3 separate sketches for this and 2 different versions of the armor. The first sketch (gif 1) was just to get the image on the page; the second sketch (not shown) and third sketch (gif 2) were both 'color coded' sketches where I tried to use one set of lines across all frames and just distort them frame-to-frame — it's not a step I ever bothered to do back in the day, but it makes things way more consistent than I ever could without it. The armor I first did by drawing it in pieces and moving them around on each frame, then I redid it by making a 3D model and tracing it. In conclusion, I can earnestly say I’ve never ever put more effort into what ultimately boils down to 15 unique frames.

+I’m not sure if it came across, but he’s turning to the camera because he’s looking at you. I thought about making it so he was slowly rotating/scanning the audience during the first lipsync bit too but by god I just didn’t have the strength go back and do it. Maybe if Kodaka was paying me.

…So I’ve kept this under wraps til now, but I’ve been working on a new Kiibo video for the past 9 months. Today I finally finished it and it’s gonna go up next weekend 5/2!!

My only Danganronpa oc!! The bit is that they suck at tailoring (one of the only features that has remained since the brief era where it was my self-insert). Sprites are traced over canonical sprites, idk if it's extremely obvious which characters but feel free to guess??
