Ancient practices hold important lessons for farmers facing drying lands, but they were often more complex than modern societies realize. Gl
Waves of the Pacific Ocean roll into Antofagasta, Chile. Since the city is situated in the Atacama Desert — the driest region in the world — it has incredibly sparse vegetation. In total, Antofagasta is home to nearly 400,000 residents and is the third largest city in the country.

Painted on a pillar within a ceremonial hall, archaeologists have found a 1,400-year-old “two faced man”, with cosmic associations.
A remarkable new discovery made by Peruvian archaeologists! They've uncovered two 1,400-year-old murals depicting "two-faced men" within a ceremonial hall that may refer to sacrifice and "cosmic realms" in the Moche culture.

Concrete blocks, mountain rocks and reddish cement are among the materials that architects have used to blend these five Peruvian residences into their natural surrounds.
In Chile, the mountains cover 80% of the territory. And the Andes range, that goes throughout the country, reaches an average height of about 5.000 metres. Located between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, rises the most arid desert in the world: Atacama. Nevertheless, the dry weather and the altitud seem to be an important elements that increase the beauty of the reagion.
In Altolar, architecture acts as a border between the city’s space and a quiet room inside full of tropical vegetation, open circulation corridors, and aerial bridges. A large architectural form, built on an existing retaining wall, which picks up the topography of the hill:

Lake Poopó is a saline lake in the Altiplano Mountains of Bolivia. At peak water levels, it covered roughly 390 square miles (1,000 square km) and was the second-largest lake in the country, but now it is almost completely dried up. Scientists believe that diversion of the lake’s waters for agriculture and mining played a large role in its decline.
