Cooking head canons with the MHA boys

Bakugo, Midoriya, and takoyami under the cut.

Shoto Todoroki

Shoto is not so great at cooking or baking,

But he seriously tries.

He can make a few plates pretty well, but he cannot just make anything.

His baking experience is absolute chaos.

Like his soba is good, because he makes it so much he’s perfected it.

But anything more complex?

Look, it would be sweet.

But you might be like ‘oh gosh this- uhh- is very nice of you- you really didn’t have to’

He will be a bit confused, he can tell something is off but he won’t really get that the food isn’t that good.

He’s pretty proud of his work.

Please please do not tell this angel his food is king of gross, it will leave him dejected for ages, 

Just suggest cooking together next time, It’ll be fun!

And you two can cook and you can help him a bit, he’s eager to learn and help out he just needs someone to teach him a bit.

Enji sure as hell doesn’t cook for him or teach him shit in the kitchen.

He’s a very patient man, but after like the third failed attempt at baking a cake the cake Still not rising, his eyebrows are knit and he’s looking at the cake the way he looked at his dad the first time we see them interact. 

It makes him grumpier because he wants to cook for you

Like it’s a sweet gesture he wants to pull off,

But he just cannot figure it out so someone please help this kid out.

Teach him something easy he can make Please.

Katsuki Bakugo

Bakugo can cook.

And it’s soo good, he knows how to cook pork perfectly so that it melts in your mouth, and can make a wide range of dishes. 

Does he want to make something? 

It’s only a quick google away for the recipe, and this man will skim it once and he’s got it. 

Katsuki also leaves the kitchen spotless after using it.

The dream roommate because of this, as long as you clean up whenever you use the kitchen.

He will cook for you, and yes it will be delicious but do not make a big deal about it or else you can kiss the amazing homecooked meals goodbye.

I can see him getting mad at you for eating poorly.

Like if you’re someone who eats a lot of boxed ramen or canned soup, he will yell at you for it. 

“What the fuck? Don’t be so lazy, that shit every day is bad for you moron”

He will silently make 2 plates every time he cooks after he catches your bad habit.

If you work late there will be an unlabeled plastic tin with what he claims are “leftovers, Eat them, We don’t need more shit in the fridge anyways”

If you cook for him it’s not bad he might complain in general, but he’s not picky.

So if he looks particularly worn out he will appreciate a solid meal already made for him, he may act mad though. 

“I don’t fucking need you cooking for me, you understand that, nerd!?”

He’s good at cooking, but I didn’t say he’s good at baking.

He has like 0 patience in general, and baking is not an exception.

Like he can make all the boxed stuff, and like basic cookies and brownies. 

But a cake from scratch? There will be scorch marks all over the kitchen.

He will tackle it and make that god damn cake no matter how long it takes.

Do not get me wrong it will not look right, but somehow it will taste fine. 

That is good enough for him after all that struggle, you’d best enjoy that cake.

I don’t see him even attempting to bake a cake unless he really wants to surprise someone or do something special for someone. 

Izuku Midoriya

He’s… Methodical with his cooking.

It lowkey might stress him out to make big fancy meals.

But otherwise, he’s fine. 

Deku doesn’t love cooking or particularly like it for that matter. 

He will avoid it if at all possible, but he won’t complain. 

Too much.

If he does have to cook for any special or particular reason he studies the recipe and needs it printed out near him.

This man will follow along with the recipe and still forget something. “Ah! Why didn’t it rise?? Shoot! I forgot baking soda…”

I also think he’s not picky when eating food, so if his food is a little burnt or off he will most likely not notice it or just not be bothered by it at all. 

Unlike with Bakugo and Shoto if you criticize his food he won’t really be upset about it, he knows it’s not the best but he’s willing to learn and feedback is the first part of that!

I will say his food definitely isn’t bad, 

I feel like when he was a kid he helped his mum cook quite a bit so he’s a master at helping.

Cooking with him is nice, he will play music, hum, and dance around a bit as he chops green onions or whatever needs to be chopped.

Just overall good vibes. 

Fumikage Tokoyami

He knows a bunch of simple meals.

And a lot of them are meat-based.

He 100% learned how to cook so he could give Dark Shadow good food. 

Like after a fight or something where dark shadow did a good job he will cook for him and pamper him for it.

They’re so cute?

He’s been cooking for a while and although they’re simple meals,

They are GOOD.

He will get flustered if you give him complements on it. Will 100% be a blushy boy like “I appreciate that... I still have a lot to learn though...”

If he’s cooking for something fancy he will still make something rather simple but it will look very tasty.

He’s pretty calm and patient with his cooking, even if it takes a while.

He will get flustered baking though.

There are just a lot more parts and baking is a lot more complicated. 

He also hasn’t spent nearly as much time baking and he doesn’t really enjoy all the work of beating eggs and making sure not to mess with batter or dough too much so it won’t disinflate.

He’s also not so committed to making baked goods, so he won’t get really frustrated and retry and retry. 

Most likely if he really cares he will ask someone for help or advice on what to do.

He does like to try out making different cookies occasionally though. 

All of the recipes he tries out are safe for Dark Shadow to eat, because he has a big appetite.

And Tokoyami doesn’t mind giving him well-deserved snacks.

Katsuki Bakugo headcannons

Talk about tough love, Like it’s very obvious he loves you and his friends… to people who know him. 

But he’s very much not the type of guy to write sappy poems or serenade anyone.

That doesn’t mean he can’t be romantic or nice in his own way though,

He’ll get you gifts that he probably spent hours angrily searching for until he found the perfect thing.

You mentioned you wanted this one rare thing once weeks ago but didn’t think you could find it? Get ready because Bakugou is not about to lose to the odds. 

He’ll find it.

And then when he gives it to you it’s wrapped very very neatly with crisp folds in the wrapping paper and barely any tape. (you know those magic presents that are somehow held together so perfectly without a ton of tape and it's nearly godly?- Bakugou’s wrapping is like that shit.)

He’ll try to act super nonchalant about it too,

Like he’s proud of himself and he’s been grinning about something all day but when it comes time to give you the gift he’s like “oh here yeah,,, I got you this it’s whatever…”

He wants you to open it on the spot.

This man is excited and probably waited until there were fewer distractions to give it to you. 

He cannot wait to see your reaction to all his hard work coming to fruition.

But he will not let you know that he’s been giddy all day, and if you ask him why he’s smiling like that at any point in the day he’ll snap at you. 

“Shut the fuck up its nothing you need to know about, you’re so goddamn nosy”

He’s also very much there for his friends, he just doesn’t want it to be obvious that he’s going out of his way for them.

If you’re upset he will also avoid whatever is upsetting you like the plague unless he has some suspicion that the reason maybe someone he can yell at.

If you’re pissed at someone he’s PISSED at someone.

And it’ll stick, you might already be over it but he holds grudges and will be petty.

He’ll bump into them in the halls or whatever and just be very petty always.

But if you’re feeling down and there’s nobody at the other end to take his rage?

Then he can be sweet.

He’s a very detail-oriented guy and he knows what your favourite snack is from the nearby convenience store, or what your favourite cafeteria food is.

So he may disappear off somewhere and suddenly there’ll be a bag of your favourite x brand chips on your desk,

If you ask him he will deny buying them though

“No? Why on earth would I do that? What even? Seriously Shut up!”

Everyone knows he did it, but you might be better off just taking the chips and dropping the question.

Also, he can be a bit rough on you in terms of your grades, but it’s just because he cares.

He’ll shoot you comments like “hey, idiot, shouldn’t you be studying instead of setting up a karaoke night, your grades were slipping because of x test right?!”

If you ask him to tutor you his patience will run dry very fast, oh boy.

Of course, he’ll agree after enough pestering, he might even have been the one to suggest it.

“Well if you’re having so much trouble… I guess I could help out a bit”

But he’s going to be grouchy throughout the whole thing, maybe a bit too many insults thrown around.

“Why the fuck can’t you get this through your head?! It’s simple, you moron!”

He’s more frustrated with himself not being able to explain himself well enough for you to understand.

He’s not very good at explaining himself but if you start crying or something he’ll sigh, mumble out an apology, and maybe even give a very stiff hug.

“God… okay stop stop,,, let’s take a break and start over yeah?”

He will be sweeter from there on out because he does not want to see you cry again.

“Your paper will be a mess is all, I don’t care if you cry but you can’t write if it's wet.”

I love Bakugou, he's such a grumpy dude.

He will also definitely make sure you make whatever goals you set for yourself, trying on a new work our routine?

OK dope, Bakugou will make sure you stick to it then. 

Trying to meet some goal with your running time? He’ll go running with you.

If you have any goal and Bakugo catches you slipping he will be there to rather aggressively put you back on the right path.

He will not have any of your complaints.

“Come on you’re a fucking nerd, but not a fucking quitter. And I’ll make sure of it.”

Also like how Ironic is it he calls everyone a nerd? 

Because if there ever was a nerd Bakugo is a nerd. 

This boy is vv smart.

We haven’t seen his room but I’ll bet you with his high marks, and how detail-oriented he is, his room is organized and clean. 

Books neatly stacked in his bookcase, his bed always made without a wrinkle, and his floor either mopped or vacuumed on the regular. Also he for sure dusts his stuff, awards shoved off to the side but pristine.

And if you ever doubt yourself or if you’re insecure about something he will correct that shit real fast. 

The only time you get compliments from him but they’re super aggressive. 

“You must be real fucking stupid to think that about yourself”

Shoto Todoroki headcannons

Ok first off what a baby.

Next, Shoto’s hero name is Shoto right?

Whenever I think of him as a hero, I think of that interview where he said he wanted to be the type of hero to put people at ease.

And just godd it makes sense that his hero name would be Shoto and not like ice flames or something crazy like what Bakugo tries to pull.

I mean first off its very like him,

Second, It means that people will have to call him by his first name and not his last, which I don’t see him avoiding but I think it takes the attention off his #1 hero dad.

Also

Because people are calling him his first name and they're in japan, usually either means you’re close or in just like a casual environment (it's not that stressed in high school I feel like but I for sure saw it with adults when I lived there) which is like a small thing but when he saves people it’s like its ok Shoto is here, it takes a bit of the stress of meeting a hero off of an already stressful situation just calling him his first name.

I have SO many opinions on that, god I love him.

I also may have cried about how calm and low key sweet this man is

He’s for sure the type of friend to pay a lot of attention to little details and get you something really sweet and meaningful for your birthday or any big day

But, he would never make a big deal about it, and probably gets vv flustered if you open it in front of him, so he’d find some inconspicuous way to slip it to you.

Like leave it on your desk with a little note of slip it in your bag quietly.

His small gestures, present, or note is probably so sweet it makes you cry.

And if you do open it and cry in front of him he will be SO flustered and panicked because oh no, oh no what did he do wrong? Wtf oh my god

It will take you a long second to reassure him that it is ok and these are happy tears, please don’t scare him like that!

Having him as a friend would be a gift in itself to be honest

Also he’s vvv obviously v patient and if you have a hobby or sport or something you asked him to help you with, he would probably do research on how to best do the thing you asked him for help with, and give you pointers.

Like if you asked him to help time your swimming he would time you but he would have studied up and be like “you can improve your speed and form if you keep your head tucked more when you come up for a breath, don’t forget to x”

He might come off a little overbearing, but he’s really just trying his best to help you and he won’t really understand why you’re upset but he will back off if you ask him to.

If Shoto Todoroki notices you’re upset he will not ask about it unless he really thinks he has to, but he will do a million tiny things for you without saying anything to try and make you feel better.

He’s just not the best at helping out with emotions and doesn’t want to risk making you feel worse!

Idk Shoto is the perfect man and no one can change my mind.
