I’ll never forget sobbing on my fifteenth birthday because my life was falling apart and I saw no hope for the depressed, anorexic girl staring back at me in the mirror. I would do anything to go back and tell 15 year old me that there was hope. That life gets better. That today, as I turn 22, I would be 1 month from marrying the best thing that has ever happened to me. That today, I look in the mirror and see a joyful overcomer. That there was a beautiful end to the recovery journey- one with so much strength that the warrior woman I have become can begin a graduate degree in mental health and addictions to coach others through their recover journeys.
I can’t go back, but I can tell you, my beautiful partners in this life we are living, to NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. We cannot see what is up ahead- We do not know what beauty awaits us. But never let the pain of this moment suck away all of your hope- because IT GETS BETTER, and that is not just something we say<3 there are beautiful days ahead - keep fighting, we are by your side to help!

ur blog is amazing!!!! thank u for doing what u do ❤️
aww thankyou! Thankyou for a bit of encouragement today!
I’m going to graduate school to become a therapist but I’m afraid I’ll get fired when I try to convince every client to get a kitten or puppy because they are like happiness and friendship and cuddles and love and motivation all in soft little packages...
Honestly bless your blog ♡
aww thankyou!!!
I wrote this month's article for the Libero Magazine on a topic that is very dear to my heart : realizing we are created for a purpose even when we feel we are falling apart

Are you struggling with your emotions?

“Don’t allow depression to tell you that you’re incapable of making a difference!”
This month at the libero magazine our topic is finding our voices, so I wrote this article to share my story of finding that I could make a difference in the world despite my depression and the lies it told me. {Libero Magazine is a nonprofit magazine, and we rely on donations to pay the costs involved in running an online magazine and its operations. We have a goal to raise $5,000; if you would like to contribute to our goal of promoting mental health, head to our website and click the donate button!} http://liberomagazine.com/depression/finding-voice-amidst-depression/
Can you wait? or are you living in the future? I struggled for a long time with forgetting to love the present, and this article captures my thoughts along the way to living in the present!
We are live with our rebranding! The Libero Magazine played a huge role in giving me tools and encouragement to recover from an eating disorder and to fight for my mental health - and I'm honored I now get to be a part of the publication and share my story and what I've learned! Check it out, whether you or a loved one is struggling or just looking to promote mental health! Www.liberomagazine.com
self-care quality check
these are questions I ask myself to evaluate the quality of my self-care:
When was the last time I showered?
When was the last time I got some fresh air and sunlight?
How many hours of sleep did I get last night?
When was the last time I hugged someone?
When was the last time I changed into fresh clothes?
How long has it been since I’ve eaten?
When was the last time I cleaned my living space?
When was the last time I did something just for me that wasn’t ultimately productive?
I used to be a straight student. I was organized and practical. I saved money, stayed focused, and sought perfection. And I was miserable. Then I chose to love instead. I chose to follow my heart sometimes, even when it didn't make practical sense. And I've never been happier. Society tells us to be perfect and to always be practical and busy - but look around? Are societies model citizens actually happy? Or do they miss spending time just resting with their families? Do they dread the burnout? Do they truly love the life they made? Step back, choose to be different. It works!
Sometimes, you fall in love so quickly it is absolutely terrifying.
But in the most beautiful way.
Perfectionist? Check out my blog!
I recently started a blog about finding freedom from perfectionism! I discuss identity, scheduling, shame, recovery, and other aspects of finding freedom! I’d love to connect with you if you would like to reach out, comment, or just read!

There is still hope.
On the hardest days, there is still hope.
You are not a lost cause.
Reach out, Rest, Take a break. But do not give up - because there is always, always hope.
Love Changes Everything
there’s literally no point in teaching girls to be body positive if you only use men’s opinions for validation like “boys like girls with curves” nah get that the fuck out of here
