You are beautiful #EthicalMemes
I remember the push I received. Grateful for that. #EthicalMemes
also i literally do not care whether you prefer pads or tampons but the fact that in almost every situation where free period supplies are available, they’re tampons, and this is just assumed to be fine (or people like campaigning for “free tampons” rather than “free menstrual products”) upsets me bc there are a lot of people who use pads who cannot use tampons and i don’t understand why tampons are considered not just the default but the only option worth mentioning
also how pad users are seen as unhygienic or childish or less capable/active
I genuinely cannot use tampons because they make me uncomfortable. (Yes, I used it correctly. It’s just the thought of having something in me makes me feel uncomfortable.) I’m more comfortable with pads because I can anticipate when I need to change them. Since my period hasn’t been consistent in terms of flow for the last few months (i.e. some periods have heavier days whereas some of my periods are light altogether)- pads are so much better for me.
My university has free menstrual products in the bathrooms. 99% of the time, it’s only tampons available. Only once have I seen a pad. Once. I ended up just carrying pads in my backpack 24/7 because I know there won’t be any products for me, should I need them.
There’s dozens of menstrual products because periods are not all the same. There’s no “one size fits all” option. Tampons are not a “one size fits all” option. Spearheading your campaigns with “free tampons” is leaving out a large majority of the population who either cannot wear tampons, are not comfortable wearing tampons, or just choose not to wear them.
Pads are just as fine as any other menstrual product. They’re hygienic. They do their intended job.
As someone who can only wear pads, please stop trying to make tampons the default. It literally does not make sense. Tampons, pads, menstrual cups, and sponges are not all one size fits all. Tampons are a menstrual product, but they are not THE me menstrual product.
Also, to the person in the notes that said “just say women”: Not all women have menstrual cycles and not all people with menstrual cycles are women. Simple.
It’s not a hard concept to grasp, really.
I remember growing up and watching a tampon commercial where these young adult women or teens were saying that wearing a pad made them feel like they were wearing a diaper and how amazing they felt wearing a tampon. I feel like the commercial was trying to tell women that wearing a pad makes you feel like a child, but wearing a tampon makes you feel sexy or something and that’s disturbing. Tampons don’t show pad lines on your undies, so you can still sexually attract men! Men don’t want to be reminded that women have periods.
Menstrual products should be about what I NEED and my comfort level. So I support making pads available to ALL.
Plus, tampons can cause infections! Toxic Shock Syndrome is rare, but it’s very serious. I can wear tampons, but I try to only do it when I know I can change them in a timely manner (which is not always possible at work). My own period product of choice is Thinx underwear.

What do you think? 😊

Do you ever go “ wow ok” and shut down entirely
If homosexuality was a natural thing, then why can't they reproduce? And "you're ignorant" isn't an answer.
who said reproduction is the end goal for everyone who has sex????????
there are women who cant reproduce. doesnt make them any less “natural”. you know you sound ignorant which is why you ended this message that way. you know you got a big box of rocks for brains
