when people say “the honeymoon phase is over,” it shouldn’t mean that the butterflies or romantic or passionate feelings eventually fade away

i think it’s really that in the beginning you’re so wrapped up in each other that the world doesn’t matter

and then eventually, the world comes back into the picture

and the honeymoon is over because there are responsibilities that come into play, and learning about boundaries and communication and going through the ups and downs of life

but what keeps a couple going should always be that fire

that drive to keep going and commit to being there for each other

that part of the “honeymoon” should never end
