I'm glad you asked! We'll be having TWO meetups this year: an unofficial outdoor meetup on the Apple Store lawn from 11am-12pm (no badge required), and the official scheduled photoshoot in Gaming Hall D from 8-9 pm. There will be ribbons as well!

The themes and prompts for each day are just suggestions. You can post anything any day of the week and we will reblog it.

Hi all!

We are pleased to announce that Anairë/Fingolfin Day will be coming back again this year on December 13th!

We will do things slightly differently this year and have optional prompts that people can submit and fill on Ao3 in addition to the general "theme" prompts to be posted here. That will open up in early September and there will be an announcement at that time.

This will be a fun event and we are very excited to see what people make.

Actually, what the hell, let's do an interest check!

21-27 September (to mark Thorin & Co arriving in Lake-town on the 22nd)

28 September-4 October (to mark Smaug's attack on the 1st)

5-11 October (to mark the Battle of the Five Armies on the 10th)

We have three significant dates, if we assume that the movies follow the same calendar as the books (dates taken from the timeline on the LOTR Project website here): Thorin and the Company showing up in Lake-town and upending the lives of Bard and the Bardlings on the 22nd, Smaug attacking and Tauriel and Sigrid first meeting on the 1st, and the Battle of the Five Armies on the 10th. Or maybe there's another one you'd rather - just let me know!

And if anyone would like to make a banner or some graphics, or has ideas for prompts, please give me a shout.

Rohan Week 2026 Schedule

Hello everyone! Due to the interest shown in hosting Rohan Week by the folks of the fandom, Rohan Week 2026 will run this year on:

November 7 - 13

We do not know the exact date of the Siege of the Hornburg during the reign of Helm Hammerhand, but in honour of the Long Winter and the brutal siege, the event will be held on November.

Tolkien Siblings Week rides again!

Immeasurably happy to announce that Tolkien Siblings Week, your annual hub for fanworks of all types centered on all sibling sets in all Tolkien works, is returning for its second year in fall of 2026! It will be running from the same dates as last year (November 23rd-29th), and operating on the same guidelines.

In terms of logistics, optional prompts will be released on June 23rd, leaving you a bountiful five months in which to brainstorm and work your creative magic. An ao3 collection will go live in the last few weeks leading up to the event; we ask that if you plan to add to the collection, you hold back on posting your work until then (although sharing previews or snippets is just fine).

Not much to say at the moment beyond that, except that it's great to be back, and we're hoping to welcome many new faces this year among our beloved returners. In the meantime, any burning questions can be sent via the askbox, messages, or in replies. And all reblogs are of course awfully appreciated as we work to get the word out ♡

Hello, Tolkien Fandom!

I am considering running a trans-themed Tolkien fandom fic exchange later this year, and I want to gauge the fandom's interest in an event like this! Please give me your honest answers so I can figure out how best to run this :)

Additionally, if you are interested in ANY kind of trans-themed Tolkien event, even if you don't want to participate in a fic exchange style of event, I'd love it if you could take the survey anyway - I have some questions about different kinds of events you might prefer instead.

There are only two required questions, though I'd appreciate if you'd answer the optional ones as well.

You do not have to be trans yourself to take the survey! This event will be focused on trans characters, trans headcanons, and trans themes, but will not be exclusive to trans fans. Cis fans and folks who otherwise don't use the "trans" label are welcome to participate, so long as you are respectful and supportive of trans identities!

Anyone being transphobic regarding this event (or just in general) will be blocked. If this isn't your thing, you can take the survey and answer "no," or else just move on with your life.
