Domino laughed to herself at the comment. She could only imagine him as a normal looking IT Rocket, with only the snake bites to signify his dark, troubled past.

As for his question…

“I don’t. And don’t you worry your little dyed-black head. Leave the ‘being in charge’ thing to me.”

No respect for his superiors, really.

As far as Kiean was concerned his hair was so dark brown it almost looked black anyway, but he wasn't going to pretend he didn't put jet black dye on top.

The man pulled out a small tin from his pocket, offering it out to Domino.

Domino groaned internally. She was stuck with My Chemical Luvdisc here for the entire duration of the stakeout? She almost preferred his hyperactive, crybaby twerp of a partner.

Externally, she shifted, putting her legs up on the dashboard.

“Maybe that’s why our target’s gone into hiding. To act out his little fantasies.”

Kiean could have made an insulting remark, but chose not to. He didn’t want to suffer Domino’s wrath. He side glanced at her putting her legs up on the dashboard before staring out the window again.

“Who knows what he’s up to. But I suggest we make a battle plan for when he does come. Am I right in my understanding that you don’t use Pokemon?”

The grunt had to swipe his fringe out of his eyes, looking at himself in the rear view mirror and tapping his two fingers to underneath his bottom lip.

“I should really get snake bites…”

“I’m not looking to cause a shock, Agent Domino. I’m simply stating the facts.”

He could have gone on to talk about how maybe she didn’t appreciate nor understand the underlying meaning of that phrase, but he didn’t feel like getting stabbed today.

“People often tend to ignore the matter but they’re really just being ignorant to their flaws. They like to crawl into a little world of their own where they feel safe and comfortable- a pretend world just so they can act out their little fantasies whilst everything else crumbles around them.”

“It was a rhetorical question,” Bashou replied at once, sounding more like a disdainful schoolmaster than a Rocket agent. “I don’t want to know. I don’t tend to go around collecting sob stories from Grunts. That would be a full time job in itself.”

This had developed into a stand-off, much more quickly than he would have liked. But he certainly wasn’t going to be the one to back down, even if he had to lean on his rank and nothing else.

“Oh, is that right?“ Bashou was much more taken aback than the brief raise of his eyebrows gave away. “Am I to take that as a threat?”

There was a long pause before Kiean decided to answer. He could have easily backed down to his superior, knowing that he risked getting himself into trouble. But did he ever really care too much about that? No.

“A threat indeed. But I trust that somebody as respectable as yourself would not even have an inkling of a desire to hurt that boy.”

There was definitely tension between them, but the grunt didn’t lose eye contact. If he was lucky, Bashou would back down and leave, or at least say something sensible enough to warrant an excuse for a goodbye. But just like himself, the man was almost impossible to read.

Kiean eyed the younger grunt carefully. That was impossible to give a straight answer to, and although he had no qualms about hurting someones feelings if they had asked that... this was Sean. So he would have to lie, at least a little bit.

“No. What makes you say that?”

The grunt didn’t make eye contact, and he wasn’t certain if his partner could see right through him or not.

That's all the description he was going to give the man.

"He's sensitive, so don't be harsh on him just because you're a superior."

Kiean was well aware of this fact, but he didn't alter his tone towards Bashou at all. He was tall enough to be intimidating (in his mind, anyway) and just because he lacked the muscles didn't mean he couldn't put up a fight.
