It is my third time to see snow with my naked eyes. The first time was last month when I was doing Placement 3 in Peterborough. Last week was the second time in Norwich. Well, not as cold as I expected :)  

People staying in the UK are still not able to travel back to HK due to a travel restriction set by the HK government. I hope it is gonna be lifted by June or July. 

England is still under a lockdown. No gym... It is so fxxking boring :(

It has been half a year since i wrote a blog last time. 

Returned to the UK, started the second academic year, living in a new accommodation, completed a 6-week placement, “enjoying” a lonely Christmas... time flies x

2021 has come. The pandemic has not ended and Norwich has gone into Tier 4. All flights from the UK to Hong Kong have been suspended due to the mutation of the Chinese virus. I truely hope the vaccines can bring us back to normal as soon as possible.  

Btw, I treated two COVID +ve respiratory patients closely last month. It was definitely an unforgettable experience. Despite the full PPE, you can’t imagine that fear... 

I have not done a lateral flow test yet. I don’t wanna konw...

It has been more than a month since I came back. There was a great sense of freedom after finishing the 14-day quarantine at home. I gotta say Hong Kong is so fxxking hot and everyone is supposed to wear a face mask on the streets. Btw I have got some food and drinks that I looked forward to when I was still in the UK. Mike tea, egg waffles, siu mai... I missed them a lot. Unfortunatly, there has been the second / third outbreak again in Hong Kong forcing all restaurants to only allow dine-in service from 6pm to 5am and made the 4-people gathering rule re-appear.

That’s it. 10+ months. 

After vacating my room and packing my luggage, I headed to the railway station by foot. Yes, by foot... I hauled a super heavy suitcase and walked all way to the station as no buses were operating at midnight. That was fuxking miserable. 

Although I needed to stick to a face mask in the airport and during the flight, I still decided to eat and drink, and I ended up watching 4 movies on the plane. As nobody sat by the window and all seats in the middle were unavaliable due to coronviruses, I could pull up all chair arms and lay down just like a first-class seat :)

After the 12-hour flight, I needed to wear an electrical wristband as well as to do a deep throat saliva test where I totally waited 6 hours to obtain the result (-ve). Then, I headed home by taxi and, through the window, saw so many face masks floating around.  Finally I met my mum, followed by my dad, who I hadn’t seen for 11 months. 

Anyway, my 14 days quarantine has just started. Hopefully, everything will be fine.

Finally, the last summative assessment (Online OSCE) in this academic year has been finished under the pandemic, even though there is still a few online lectures before the end of the semester. Besides, despite the cancellation of the placement, there may be some alternative sessions to participate in. 

During the lockdown in the UK, it is literally boring to spend most of the time staying in the accommodation. Studying, watching movies, playing PS4, sleeping and noting else…

I hope COVID-19 is going to disappear, and thus lockdown and social distancing will be lifted shortly. Look forward to seeing the society return to normal.

Well...

I’ve cancelled the flight.

It means that I’m gonna stay a little longer, but I haven’t decided which day to leave. Let see how it will go...

Boris Johnson has announced full lockdown in the UK to slow down the spread of coronavirus. Apart from purchasing necessities and daily exercises, we are not allowed to step out for three weeks. All restaurants (except for those doing takeaway) and shops (except for grocery stores) are all closed... No gathering as well.  

Hearing back from the accommodation office, I have decided the date when I return to HK, 8 June. It means I am going to stay in Norwich at least 2 more months. At the moment, every single HK resident who returns to HK needs to undergo 2-week self-isolation. I hope it won’t still be a case on the day when I return.

To be honest, I never expected coronavirus is that contagious and going to affect European countries. I thought it will definitely be safe in the UK until it came to the outbreak in Italy, followed by France and then the UK. 

Thanks to the Chinese motherfuckers who brought the virus, my trip to Venice & Rome / Paris in Easter holidays has been ruined, and what is more, all face-to-face teaching has been cancelled until the end of the holidays. That is why I hate the Chinese a lot as they always produce problems affecting other people. Fuck!!

The only fact that relieves my fear and anger is no positive case that has been found in the UEA yet, but nobody knows how it will go in the coming days...

Hong Kong has required everyone from the UK, America and Ireland to isolate themselves at home for 14 days, so what I can do at the moment is to stay at the uni and keep doing the online learning =.=

Now, it is time to prepare the FoPP group work, but I'm really looking forward to the next trip to Venice and Rome in April. I hope it's gonna happen depsite the COVID-19 and tight schedule. And guest what, my first year has been half way there 😁 Literally, I have been feeling a little bit of homesickness and missing HK 😆.

2020 Happy New Year ~~ !! 

2019 was a special year. 

I…

1. quit my full-time job

2. left home to study abroad  

3. watched my first premier league game

4. traveled to several cities in the UK

5. cooked many times

6. was locked out many times 

7. played football with a group of Thai students 

8. told a Chinese I’m not Chinese

9. lost 18.6 kg in 9 months

10. realized I still have many things to improve in 2020…..

A day trip to Dover and Deal on Saturday. Of course, Dover is the one I literally wanted to visit. Deal just happens to sit near to Dover.  Unfortunately, I came across a bad weather when I arrived the White Cliffs in the afternoon. It was not only raining, but also extremely windy. It was quit dangerous while walking along the cliff without any fences. 

I made a silly mistake that day. I meant to take a bus heading to Deal at a bus stop, which is in the middle of Dover and Deal, but the last bus has gone when I arrived the bus station. Well, I needed to take a bus heading all the way back to the Dover train station and take a train to Deal. It really sounds ludicrous, isn’t it?

Btw, I really look forward to the next trip to Bristol and Bath during Christmas holidays.

Throwback to my 4-day trip to London and Windsor. What an amazing and unforgettable trip !!!

Even though this is my second time to London, getting more time and flexibility to travel alone, I’ve tried loads of lovely food and visited more than 20 places !!! Really look forward to my next trip, for which I haven’t confirmed where I’ll go. 

My Physiotherapy program began right after the trip. So far, after three weeks, everything is still okay. But nobody knows what will happen in the future as it’s always seen as a tough course, especially for international students. BTW, Since I made friend with a couple of Thai student, I haven’t been making new friends at all. Well, It’s because I somehow wanna be more independent lol. 

Good Luck for my journey in the UK ~ ~ And I’ve already started missing home…

Finally, I’ve moved to my new accommodation which is fantastic.

A clean building, nice shower room, amazing design, user-friendly desk and so on.

I really like it more than the old one, and it is even cheaper. But one bad thing is that it doesn’t come with any bedding items, except for a mattress.  =.=

BTW, I have watched the first premier league game in my life, Norwich City against Manchester city. Yes, the ticket is super expensive, but I could have a nice seat which is closed to a corner arch where at least 6 corner kicks were done by Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne and Mahrez, and Walker and Sterling was also very closed to me during the second half time. At the end of the match, Norwich City won by 3:2 so every home supporter went crazy !! 5 goals had made the ticket worthwhile. :)

Tomorrow, I will head to London. Wish myself a nice trip ~ ~

Sitting on a huge meadow in Earlham Park, I could create a care-free state of mind. Nice weather and views here. 🌄🌄

But it is a pity that I cannot be with Hong Kong people at the moment. I really hope their efforts will pay off soon. 🇭🇰

This is the bike used to move between the campus and city center. Hopefully I can save the money spent on an annual bus ticket ( £ 235 !! WTF !!), under the premise that it can last for 3 years. But I have already got it fixed for twice in the first week. 😂

Speaking of it, I really enjoy riding in Norwich and it is very popular here. It is not only environmentally friendly, but also comfortable. By the way, I sometimes felt scared when the cars were passing by me closely. 😂😐
