Nine: "It’s a different morality. Get used to it or go home."
Now this scene’s intriguing for the sole reason of Nine and Rose coming from different, yet completely valid moral standpoints. Rose wishes to respect the deceased and not have the Gelth possess the corpses, and also wishes to keep Gwyneth out of harm’s way. Nine wants to rescue the last remaining Gelth because he doesn’t want to see them die. And for the first time in the series, we get our first serious debate between Nine and Rose and I think it’s one of most well done discussions between a companion and a Doctor we’ve had yet because they both sound perfectly reasonable; and for Nine, it’s the first instance of his survivor’s guilt in action. Here, he’s trying desperately to save the Gelth to make amends for what the Time War did to them, and his desire to help them out is the first step on his way to redeeming himself. On Rose’s end, she doesn’t want to see her new friend being used as a tool instead of being treated like a person, and she’s outright furious at Nine for even suggesting something like this. Really, this is an argument neither side can win because the choice to help the Gelth doesn’t lie with them for in actuality, it’s Gwyneth’s. But what this did show is that while they disagreed, both Nine and Rose only wanted to help in their own way to fix the situation.

You hear my muse sobbing softly in their sleep. What do you do?

"Indeed. i got told that you have something I own and I would like to get it back."
Something that he owned? Tommy stared. This man didn't seem familiar in the least, how could he have something that the man owned? Clearing his throat, he shook his head, "Sorry, sir, I don't-- You must have me confused with someone else..."

Okay, he was staring. He didn't mean to, he really didn't, but the man's face.. A sense of deja vu was falling over him at the sight of it. He knew he'd seen it before, and he knew where he'd seen it before. But that didn't make sense... He continued to stare.
”Thanks.” He grinned, sitting in the space beside her.
’You’re welcome.’ She laughed lightly, continuing to read her book.
He pulled out his journal, setting it on the counter and opening it, beginning to work on another of his drawings of the Doctor.
”Well it wasn’t that hard of a task, but if you want, you can go on an adventure with me.”
Gabriel smiled brightly. “You sound like the Doctor.” He considered the options, then grinned. “Allright, let’s go on an adventure.”
Tommy froze on the spot at the mention of 'the Doctor', staring in surprise at the man across from him. "... I sound like... who?"
