so a huge list of artists that was used to train midjourney’s model got leaked and i’m on it
literally there is no reason to support AI generators, they can’t ethically exist. my art has been used to train every single major one without consent lmfao 🤪

something else i wanted to add, a lot of people like to use disabled people as scapegoats in the situation to justify it and it’s NOT OKAY.
in b4 95% of all websites in june 2024 announce that "for security" they will only work with browsers that use manifest v3
The "Manifest V3" rollout is back after letting tensions cool for a year.
Just use Firefox.
The more people who use Firefox the better! It's got versions for the desktop, android, and iphone, all free. In addition to ublock origin there are thousands of addons. You could also consider using one of Mozilla's paid products, such as their VPN, or donating to the Mozilla Foundation, in order to ensure they're able to keep going.
Mozilla is the not-for-profit behind the lightning fast Firefox browser. We put people over profit to give everyone more power online.
Mozilla is a global nonprofit dedicated to keeping the Internet a global public resource that is open and accessible to all.
Not to be Old on main but I remember this exact thing happening in the late 90s and early 00s. I remember it very well. Microsoft pushed out all the browser competition with Internet Explorer, at which point both browser and web innovation stagnated for years because why fix something that's broken if everyone is using the broken thing anyway because there are hardly any other options. If you want to know how bad it was, Internet Explorer did not have browser tabs and it certainly did not have any sort of adblock. And everyone just lived with it.
I am watching the exact same thing happen with Chrome in real time today and that's why I always reblog these posts and sometimes am extra annoying and add on to them. I don't want to see it happen again because it sucked. Please use Firefox. Use it on mobile too (it has browser extensions!!! Including ad blockers!!!) And reminder that Edge/Brave/Vivaldi are all built on Chromium and you should not be using those either. Those browsers will show up as Chrome on tracking analytics and it does not help the overall project, which is showing web developers that Chrome is not the only browser people are using.
Your passwords and other useful things transfer to Firefox, btw. Go make the switch. You have nothing to lose.
Most websites that tell you they need Chrome to work are lying, even if they block you from accessing them if you're not using Chrome. They just do not want to support the dev work to optimize for anything else, or may have a special deal with Google.
Fortunately, there are Firefox extensions that just basically tell websites "yeah, I'm definitely Chrome. don't worry about it"
Download User-Agent Switcher and Manager for Firefox. Spoof websites trying to gather information about your web navigation—like your browse
Download Chameleon for Firefox. Spoof your browser profile. Includes a few privacy enhancing options. A WebExtension port of Random Agent S
Please note I have not used either of these, because adblockers and script blockers are good enough at disabling those annoying messages.
UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END 2016
I'm starting to keep a record of all the times Palestinians have condemned Hamas and what happened on October 7th, only to get threatened, belittled, and/or talked over by leftists/westerners. Here's one such example similar to this post.
Palestinians and Israelis who actually live there: "Hamas raped women. They are not freedom fighters. They make life harder for Palestinian people in an already shitty situation perpetuated by the Israeli government. "
Some white leftist from Pennsylvania: "kys, those videos were AI generated. Hamas are my heroes, and any nuanced discussion makes you a genocide supporter. BTW, have you read this cool book called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion?"
Including these peer-reviewed tags from @jewishlivesmatter
I am also including a link to the article.
If you are one of the many people who I unfollowed in October because you said that Jews deserve to be raped and tortured and murdered, you have a moral obligation to read this article. I bet you know who you are, even if you don't want to admit it now.
happy new year everyone....!!!

I think people who lost their shit over badly written video game goblin racism shouldn’t have a say in what is or isn’t antisemitism
Okay so before I say what I want to, let me make it clear that while I never cared about HP goblin shit or the shofar that non-Jews on this app pretended to care about, this isn’t to invalidate any Jews who are bothered by it. My thought: the goblins in Baldur’s Gate look nearly identical to the goblins in fucking Hogwarts. And guess what? Half of the people on this app play that game with zero qualms. Including myself. But my point is that they never cared about the goblins. It was just hastily tacked on to the other issues with JKR to get more people to boycott the game. It is what it is.
I actually had this exact discussion with my friend back in September. We were talking about Hogwarts Legacy, because their dad had bought the game, so they were considering playing it—and while they had made their peace with how it related to JKR (they’re non-binary so they obviously have their own very valid issues with her), they wanted my opinion on the goblin thing.
I just shrugged and went, “look, if I avoided everything with possibly antisemitic tropes, I wouldn’t be able to consume any fantasy media—not even BG3, and we both know I’m never giving that game up.”
So yeah. It really is just how goblins be. I’ve made my peace with that. I’m personally much more concerned with how people react to real-world instances of antisemitism.
Exactly this. I had to tell people to stop speaking for Jewish people who largely didn't care about this hogwarts legacy thing and instead if they cared AT ALL to speak out against real insidious harmful antisemitism (and I gave examples).
Guess who I now had to block for sharing misinformation and hatred towards Jews ever since October 7th?
And they say their activism isn't performative.
Yup. And there’s something to be said about how there was no substantial uptick in antisemitic incidents or hate crimes after Hogwarts Legacy was released, but there was a gigantic, soaring uptick in antisemitism after 10/7. Yet the “activists” are only upset about the video game, not our literal murders.
And they wonder why we say they don’t give a shit about Jews.
I don’t mind people being upset about this depiction, just as I don’t mind people being upset about the most recent issue in Doctor Who (which I haven’t seen but looked uncomfortable at best), but the hypocrisy is astonishing. forgive a personal anecdote, but one of my former mutuals (sigh, I have so many of those) made a HUGE fuss over this and was always like “omg stand with Jewish ppl!!!” her reaction to 10/7 was…rapturous joy, denial of atrocities, and repeatedly calling Hamas brave freedom fighters, and started reblogging protocols of Zion style conspiracies. so yeah, the false pretense of this “activism” fell apart very quickly.
it's still crazy to me that the taylor swift private jet pollution thing isn't like, a running joke, she actually produced an unnecessary amount of pollution because of how often she uses private jets. she should've voiced the onceler in the lorax instead of that red haired girl

9 helpful tips to stop yourself from sharing false information.
In order to prevent the spread of fake news, here is a quick guide to spotting it.
1. Read Past The Headline
One way that fake news gets amplified is that busy readers may not look past the headline or opening paragraph before they decide to share an article. Fake news publishers sometimes exploit this tendency, writing the beginning of a story in a straightforward way before filling in the rest with obviously false information.
In other cases, clicking through to the article will reveal that the story really has nothing to do with the headline at all or provides nothing to back it up.
2. Check What News Outlet Published It
Unfamiliar websites plastered with ads and all-caps headlines should draw immediate skepticism. Googling a site’s name and checking out other articles it posts should also help determine whether it’s trustworthy.
Many fake news sites will outright say that they are satire or don’t contain factual information, but others are made to mimic major news outlets. Check the URL names of pages that look suspect, making sure that it’s not a hoax site that is pretending to be a trusted source.
3. Check The Publish Date And Time
Another common element in fake news is that old articles or events can resurface and lead people to believe they just happened. Checking the publish time stamp is something readers can quickly do to prevent being misled.
Sometimes, however, finding out when an event happened can take a bit more work ― such as when the date of an article is current, but the events described within it are old. Click through links and read carefully to determine when the event described actually happened.
4. Who Is The Author?
Looking at who wrote the article can reveal a lot of information about the news source. Searching through the author’s previous articles can show whether they are a legitimate journalist or have a history of hoaxes.
5. Look At What Links And Sources Are Used
A lack of links or sources for claims in an article is an obvious warning sign that the post is likely false. Fake sites may also provide numerous links to sites that appear to back up their claims, but are themselves spreading misinformation. Check to see that claims supported by links actually come from reliable sources.
6. Look Out For Questionable Quotes And Photos
It’s incredibly easy for fake news writers to invent false quotes, even attributing them to major public figures. Be skeptical of shocking or suspicious quotes, and search to see if they have been reported elsewhere.
Likewise, it’s easy to take a photo from one event and say it’s from another. Images can also be altered for a certain story. Reverse image searches, either through Google or tools like TinEye, can help you find where an image originated.
7. Beware Confirmation Bias
People are often drawn to stories that reinforce the way they see the world and how they feel about certain issues. Fake news is no exception, and many of the articles that fall under its umbrella are designed to stir up emotion in readers and prey on their biases.
It’s important to check that news stories are based in fact, rather than sharing them because they support one side of an argument or bolster pre-existing political beliefs.
8. Search If Other News Outlets Are Reporting It
If a story looks suspicious or claims to reveal major news, search to see if other news outlets are also reporting the story. A single article from a suspicious source making a grand claim should be viewed with heavy skepticism. If no reliable news outlets are also reporting the story, then it’s very likely fake.
9. Think Before You Share
Fake news sites rely on readers to share and engage with their articles in order for them to spread. In extreme cases, these fake articles can balloon out of control and have unintended consequences for those involved in the stories.
FUCKING PLEASE READ THIS AND DO THIS IT’S FUCKING EMBARRASSING AT THIS POINT
