If the Democratic Party wanted to ensure that Bernie Sanders never became the Democratic Party nominee for President of the United States, all they would have to do is pass a rule that says if you want to run for the Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States, you have to have been a registered Democrat for five years before running for the nomination of the Democratic Party for President of the United States.

It’s not that hard.

Opposition is not conspiracy. It’s competitive politics.

I wonder why Sanders, an independent, runs as a Democrat. Likewise, I wonder why Bloomberg, a Republican, didn’t run against Trump in a bid to be the GOP candidate. The parties ought to reflect on the desires of the people, to be sure, but the candidates ought to be willing and able to represent their party with integrity. Right?
