“ hey, mo. ” the boy spoke as he entered the small trailer, his voice disturbing the coziness of the home. donovan found himself heading to the trailer more often since paxton had left. molly was grieving the loss of her child and doing it alone, and that was the main cause of the boy’s more frequent visits. no one should have to go through that, and no one should have to do it alone. he didn’t want her to have to do it alone. “ it was okay, i guess. her name is emma, and no, i’m not. i think i might have killed my chances with that first meeting.” taking a seat at the end of the girl’s bed, donovan spoke freely and with a sort of calm he harbored no where else. “ how about you? did you do anything interesting today? ”
her body scooted closer to him, her arms wrapping around his elbow so she could rest her chin on his shoulder. “well emma may surprise you. go for like.... DQ or something. it’s casual.” she hoped he wouldn’t knock her for dating advice, after all molly was clearly not the poster child for the perfect girlfriend; her and paxton were a mess. slowly, a shoulder lifted and the girl kept her head on his shoulder so she didn’t have to look at him. “i... took a pregnancy test.” the words were clearly said with unease, not sure how to broach the topic so she just went for it. “and it was positive.”
