Since having her baby most of the time Mara stayed home. It was just too hot to take a newborn out plus she didn’t like the thought of taking a baby somewhere crowded. The few times she had been out, she had left Nora at home with Evan. Now that her little one was a bit older, almost a month, she figured it was finally time to take her out to see the town. Yes she knew the summer event would be crowded but at least it was outdoors. As along as she didn’t stay too long, she thought it wouldn’t be too bad either.

Making sure the umbrella part shaded Nora, she put her daughter in her stroller before starting off to check out the event. As long as she was out here, she figured she might as well take some photos. It felt like forever since she had done this. Spotting someone interesting, she paused and lifted her camera. “Don’t move,” She warned before quickly adjusted the settings and snapping a few photos. “There. Perfect. Thanks.”

With the prospects of jail weighing on his mind, Tony was grateful that there was the end of summer event in Asteria.  Right now, he needs to focus on something else.  And with a few dollars in his pocket, he was running around the Boardwalk just trying to find something to do.  It was when he heard a familiar voice that he stopped and held still.  “What now?”  He asked, not wanting to make any movements.  “And when she said it was perfect,” he turned fully towards her with a bright smile and looking over at the stroller to his new favorite person in the entire world.  “Nora!!”

Quickly, he was right next to the stroller staring down at the little marvel.  “Wow, she is still so tiny.”  He commented just ecstatic to see his niece.  “How is she?  How are you?”

Sienna had truly never experienced anything like a Summer Fest before and she was taking it all in with a smile. She watched people; young and old; enjoying the various stalls, games, and activities. It was hard to believe the enthusiasm and as she wandered the length boardwalk before having to show up to volunteer at the food trucks. “So what’s better: the caramel apple or the cotton candy?” she asked aloud, finally pausing before where they were being served. “I feel like I can’t do both!” 

Per usual, Tony was roaming around enjoying the Summer Fest in just his swim trunks and converse.  Dancing to the music in his own head, he heard a woman speak and a smile formed at the corner of his lips.  “Definitely the candy apple, but cotton candy is super good too.”  Now he was stumped, “okay I got it!  You should get one and I get the other and we can share.  Sharing is caring and all that stuff.  What do you say?”

It didn’t seem like a good use of her time to explain to Tony all the reasons he was never going to be a lawyer. There was simply not time to unpack all of that. She folded her hands in front of her on the desk and took in his question before she answered. “If you go to trial there’s a strong possibility a jury will find you both guilty of a felony.” She pulled a sheet of paper from a folder labeled with Tony’s name and slid it in front of him. “The bad news is that the plea deal means jail time for you both. Three months in the correctional facility in Williamsburg.” Leyla paused to get a read on his expression. “The good news however is that you can avoid a trial, the judge agreed to a misdemeanor instead of a felony and you won’t get the maximum sentence which could be up to three years.” It wasn’t great and Leyla was fairly confident she could fight this and get the sentence lessened if they went to trial but there was no guarantee.

A lot of this went over Tony’s head, he understood the basic words but the notion of going to jail was beyond him.  All his life, he managed to get away with everything.  And now, he got his best friend and himself in trouble.  “No,” he shook his head adamantly.  “Peter can’t do jail time, he has a son.  It was my drugs, I’m the one that fucked up.  Can we fix this?  Like can I plead guilty and say it was all me?  I’ll do Peter’s time, I’ll do six months.  Just you can’t let him go to jail, Ryder needs him.”  For years, Tony disregarded the rules, the law and well growing up for that matter.  And now it was time to pay the piper, but it killed him at the thought of Peter being separated from his son for any period of time.  “This is all my fault, Peter was just trying to show me a good time.”  He tried to explain, not sure if she was fully up to date with everything that happened.  “Leyla, please fix this for Peter.  I’ll go to jail, I’ll do whatever.”

There was no denying the fact he wasn’t not all that bright, so he let the idiot thing go.  It was not the first time nor would it be the last time someone referenced that word when it came to him.  As their lips collided in a fiery kiss, he gasped when he felt her hand smack across his ass.  “Damn, you’re frisky.”  Tony nodded, “yeah, I’ve seen myself in the mirror.  You’re one lucky lady.”  Tony took a moment to model for her, let her take in his full upper body before standing up to get rid of the majority of his clothing besides his boxers.  “Wet for me huh?”  He questioned as he wiggled his eyebrows.  Soon, he was back on top of the bed with her, zealously kissing her.  “We need to get you  nakey,”   He murmured between their lips as he reached for the hem of her shirt to pull over head.  “Es,” he softly whispered.  “You’re really pretty and I like us so much.”

“Too man for me? No no no, I think it was because you weren’t man enough and the crippling disappointment you caused was too much to cope with. I knew I would get that over and over if I stayed dating men.” Turning to look at him with narrowed eyes she laugh snorted, nodding her head. “Yeah, a soybean. It’s a fucking thing. Trust.” She wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box admittedly, she would be the first to admit that, but there were some things the girl did know. Random facts that would probably never come in handy. “Oh my god same.” She screeched, flinging her arm out to the left as she heard something that mirrored her own experience, laughing loudly. “Fucking same! Apparently it makes me too fast. Weird. They are total spoilsports. Kinda like you right now, you think Summer can beat you up and I wouldn’t protect you from her? Maybe I got this friendship all confused then.” Shoving another chip into her mouth she chewed on it loudly waiting for him to talk himself through all the options in his family. “Who the fuck is Esmay? I don’t think you ever mentioned here a million times…” She asked with a raised eyebrow, the other one joining it soon after. “You think he’s dumb enough to buy it? Because summer totally is, that’s why I suggested her first.”

“Well damn, you got me there because men can be disappointing.”  Tony responded as he crinkled his nose to the side.  “But, just so you know I can last more than ten minutes now.  Like you got me back in my cum too fast phase, but I quickly outgrew it.  You should have waited and stuck around.”  If she said soy was a bean, then he would accept it.  Even if it sounded fishy to him.  “I’m not being a spoilsport, she always knows it is us.  Hey, I don’t want to get in between two sisters.  Last thing I need is to start a family dispute.  But yeah, I know you would protect me from everyone, even Godzilla.”  Lying there staring up at the ceiling as they conversed, he wondered about Summer but kept that little tidbit to himself.  “I told you about Esmay, like the girl I am dating.  She’s really into me, can’t get enough of my dick.”  He shrugged, “hmmm, alright let’s go with your plan.”

 A laugh emitted from her lungs as she tipped her head back, “You mean town clown, right?” She added with a teasing smirk. She was glad he had the balls to be himself and do as he pleased. She certainly didn’t. “Oh I am sure it is going to be drawing attention to you.” She nodded in agreement, wandering along the street in the direction of the bar. “I know, not even my tight jeans and crop top can complete with you, Tony. I hate to say it, but even I have to admit defeat on this one.” She laughed again. “Cosmopolitan? Gosh, why don’t we put on season one of sex and the city as well, just to top it all off?” She suggested with a small shrug, not hating the idea herself.

 Verity shook her head slowly, but her lips were quirked up into a smile as he sprinted for the door. “Look at you - Both handsome and a gentleman. Keep this up and I am sure you will score tonight. I’ll put in a good word for you.” She winked as she stepped into the bar, moving towards the chairs to get comfortable and grabbing a hold of a menu. “Well Tony.. Have you ever had a porn star martini before?” She asked, wiggling her brows. “I am sure it will be right up your alley.”

“Laughter is a cure for a lot of things,” Tony responded with a bright smile.  If he could bring at least one person joy a day, then he did his job around town.  At her words, he did a little playful dance as they continued up towards the bar.  “Don’t feel bad Ver, not everyone can look as awesome as me.”  Of course, it was evident he was teasing.  Tony knew most of the eyes would look at him and shake their head, while their eyes drifted to her beauty.  “Yeah, that’s a fancy drink right?  Sex and the City?  Is that show about sex?  Cause I’m totally in.”

As he held the door for her he nodded, “what can I say?  My mom raised me right.”  It might have been a stretch given his extensive background, but he at least had a few manners under his belt.  “Damn, so you're gonna be my wingwoman tonight?  I like it!  Let me know if I need to be your wingman cause I’m pretty awesome at getting people laid.”  Once they were seated, Tony raised a brow.  “No, what the hell is that?  I’ve never heard of it, would it be weird if I order it?”

She had to smile when Tony said that. He had a way of seeing all the good things in life and skirting right on past the bad parts. It was why she loved being his roommate because most days she felt that way too. If she ever needed out of a funk, he was there. But then, sometimes she needed to embrace the funk too, really let herself feel all of those emotions. And that’s usually what she had reserved for her friend in Wyatt. However, that wasn’t an option now, so he was right. “And you won’t leave me right?” She asked, mainly joking but also just wanting to hear it too. “Yeah but is that just because she wants the D?” Rori felt bad for pressing Tony like this when she knew she shouldn’t be. Maybe she was projecting some of her own pain onto his relationship. Rori watched him with a chuckle, wishing she was in more of a mood to be as playful as him but at least he was cheering her up. “Yes to all of the above. Also–I’m feeing tequila tonight for some reason? Thoughts?”

Life for Tony was a strange one, he hardly ever allowed himself to fully feel any bad emotions.  The few times he did, he nearly spiraled out of control.  “I would never leave you, you’re stuck with me until the end of the ages.”  Tony smirked at Aurora’s words, “yeah probably.  But she wants my D and that’s what matters.  Seriously Rori, it is going good between us and I dunno, she gets I’m not the sharpest crayon in the shed but it works for us.” While he glided down the aisles on the cart, he could feel the stares of others in the liquor store staring at him.  It was a common occurrence when it came to the townsfolk, but he never let it get to him.  “Tequila?  But you know I get super slutty when I drink tequila and I start taking my clothes off,” he chuckled.  “Alright, you talked me into it,” he said just a second later.  As he started placing bottles in the cart, he looked back at her.  “How much money do we have to spend again?  I want some bitch beer too so I can down something with my shots.  Oh, are we gonna need some X or anything?  Like I have some shit at the apartment, so we should be good.  Just wasn’t sure if we wanted to bring it out tonight.”

“Hot stuff? Gosh, you’re going to make me blush,” Summer teased as she flagged down the bartender to order a vodka soda. She raised an eyebrow at him, her smile growing wider. “Oh, a man with a plan. I haven’t been to a club in a long time. Are you sure you can handle dancing with a professional? I might make you sweat,” she winked at him as her drink came, taking a long sip of it. 

“I am?”  Tony questioned, all surprised with himself.  Most of the time, he had a pretty good self esteem and it didn’t hurt that he had a great body.  But this wasn’t just anyone, it was Summer and making her blush was like winning the trophy for flirting.  “I think I can hold my own, might even surprise you with a few of my moves.”  He told her as he gave her a wink.  With his fancy drink before him, he started sipping on it.  “I see why this is popular with the ladies,” he said, smiling all brightly.  “So when do you wanna get out of here?”

He didn’t want to say so, but Peter knew that his brother Elijah as well as Tony’s brother had been consulting another lawyer for another opinion and she wasn’t quite as optimistic as the public defender they were working with. There were larger concerns at play than the little bit of drugs Tony had in his pocket that night and the biggest one being that they both had prior offenses. “We’ll see I guess. I’m meeting with Leyla Osman tomorrow to see what she’s come up with for us, I guess she’s got a good relationship with the judge and might know something.” HE shrugged, fiddling with the string of his hoodie.

The confession came out shaky and nervous and Peter was bracing himself for Tony to hate him too just like Mikael did. But instead, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him and words that he didn’t expect come from the other. He wasn’t mad. That felt hard to believe but Peter hugged him back and closed his eyes to keep himself from crying. “I’m so sorry, T. If I had known, I swear I didn’t, I woulda never let that happen if I knew.” He was rambling but having Tony hugging him made it a little easier as a weight was lifted off of his shoulders now that he knew he wasn’t about to lose his best friend. 

Pulling away, he blinked quickly a few times and sniffled but tried to cover it with a cough so Tony wouldn’t realize how emotional he was. “Thanks…for having my back. Always man, you’re the only one who always does and I love you for that.” He gave him a small smile and let out a long sigh. Peter wasn’t someone who felt a lot of guilt or even remorse usually but this had been tearing him up inside for months.

For Tony, he figured he would get a slap on the wrist once more.  The man had been in and out of trouble since he was a teenager and always managed to skim on by.  In his mind, he did not think his luck could run out.  “Oh, Leyla?  Like didn’t we go to school with her?  She's wicked smart right?  See, everything is going to be fine.  Leyla is gonna figure this shit out for us and everything will work out like always.”  Tony commented, wanting to remain positive.

Nothing could have prepared Tony for the confession that just came from his friend’s mouth, but something inside him felt compelled to wrap his arms around Peter and hold him.  It hurt knowing Peter had been racked with guilt, he couldn't imagine having that burden on his shoulders for so long.  “It’s okay,” he softly stated.  Tony knew deep down, if Peter could have prevented everything from happening he would have.  There was no way in hell his friend would have allowed his mother or him to get shot.

When Peter eased away from Tony, Tony just looked at him.  “Hey, we have each other’s back.  Been like that since grade school.”  He said, flashing a smile.  Whether Peter knew it or not, Tony was not as dumb as he liked to come off.  In fact, he knew Peter had a lot of emotions that he was trying to bury, but he would never call him out on it.  “Bro, I know this has been rough on you.  But we’re good.  We’ll always be good.  And this will stay between us, I won’t tell anyone or anything.”

If there was one person Summer could always count on for a great night, it was Tony. She wasn’t quite ready to give up the birthday celebrations, so she contacted him and arranged to go out together. It wasn’t weird; they had known each other their whole lives, and he was close with Autumn. Only God knew how he could stick being around her. 

Summer arrived at the bar, as overdressed as ever, and briefly scanned the room until her eyes landed on Tony. She grinned as she approached him and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. “There’s the best birthday present of all,” she joked. “How are you doing, babe? You got a drink yet?” she asked as she settled in beside him. 

Some part of Tony felt as if he was cheating on Autumn, but the man was a friendly guy who loved being around people.  As everyone from Asteria could attest to, you didn’t get a choice when it came to friendship with Tony Donahue.  The man child would pester you until you became friends with him.

At the bar, Tony was nursing a beer when he felt arms around him and he smiled brightly.  “That’s me!”  He said all excitedly, assuming he was the best birthday present.  “I’m alright, just hanging around for a few minutes.  Yeah, I ordered a beer.  What do you want, hot stuff?”  He asked.  “Oh, so how is your birthday going?  Did you want to stay here in boring Asteria?  Or should we go into the city or something?  We could go to a club and dance, do some X.  Whatever you want.”

“Mr. Donahue, come on in.” She steppe aside and held her arm out, gesturing for him to come into her office before she shut the door behind him. “I have good news and bad news, which do you want to start with?” Tony and Peter were known to be troublemakers in Asteria, something Leyla had known about the two boys as long as she’d known them, but this was a pretty major screw up even for them. “I already met with Mr. Valentine and he’s agreed to take a plea deal if you will. This deal hinges on both of you agreeing to it so if you say no then it goes to trial.” Leyla sat across from him in her big leather chair and folded one knee over the other as she pulled an envelope out of her drawer. “Good news or bad news first, Tony?”

The moment he walked into the office his eyes widened, “wow Leyla, this office is fancy as fuck.  Maybe I should become a lawyer.”  He commented as he sat down in the seat across from her desk.  “Uh,” he wasn’t sure if that was a trick question.  As she went on about meeting with Peter, he smiled hearing his best friend’s name.  “What happens if we go to trial?”  He asked curiously.  It was not the first time he had been in trouble, but he also had a warrant out for his arrest in a different county and was not sure that had been brought up.  “I guess I’ll do whatever Peter wants,” he said with a shrug.  After all, Peter had a child he needed to take care of and Tony would never forgive himself if he did something to mess things up for his friend.  “Bad news first, then hit me with the good news.”

Evan couldn’t help but laugh at his little brother, patting him on the back and shaking his head. “You look like dad in the 70s.” He smiled, knowing that was both a compliment and an insult all wrapped up in one. He led his brother back to the nursery and smiled at how excited Tony was. He was going to be a great uncle to his daughter, just like he was to Tara’s kids. “She’s gonna love her Uncle Tony, always the fun one.” He just hoped Tony wouldn’t let her get into trouble behind his back someday. “Look, you kept a secret for me for a long time, and that wasn’t fair of me to ask you to do so, my lips are sealed on this one.” Maybe it wasn’t the same caliber of secret that Tony had to keep for him but he felt like it was only fair that he tried to cover for his brother now. His suicide attempt last year was more than anyone should be ever asked to keep a secret but Tony did it without hesitation and Evan could never repay him for the way he’d saved not only his life but his reputation. “Alright, hand me that allen wrench over there.” He gestured to the tool to Tony’s left.

“Well dad was a ladies man back in the 70s, so all I heard was I look like a total catch.  All the ladies want a mustache ride.”  Back in the nursery, Tony settled down on the floor with a beer from the case he bought beside him.  “Heck yeah, I’m gonna be the best uncle.  She is gonna love me.”  There was no doubt Tony was great with children.  Mostly, because he was a big kid himself.  When Evan mentioned the secret between them, his eyes shifted down to the floor as he took in a breath.  No matter how much time has passed, he still had a hard time handling it.  It continued to eat at him and he wondered at times if he made the right decision to keep this between them instead of reaching out to their parents or someone.  “Yeah, uh thanks.”  As Evan started listing tools, Tony would hand them over as he drank his beer.  “So, I know you’re gonna be busy with the baby but you'll still have time for your favorite brother right?”

“I always know when you’re lying, like when you pretend it doesn’t upset you that you turned me into a raging lesbian.” Autumn replied in a drifty voice, only half in the room as they lay there on the floor together, munching on snacks and doing very little else. Well, it wasn’t like the girl had any pressing deadlines. “Fuck…no….not oat milk I mean soy milk. ‘Cos soy is a fucking bean, isn’’t it? Yeah, the soybean. So a soy, vanilla, coffee is basically three bean soup. So it’s a whole meal and anyone who says coffee isn’t dinner is a filthy liar. And not in the good way.” Taking another crunch from the chip she was waving around in the air the girl frowned, making a couple of clicking noises with her tongue. “Could call Sumer to ask her to really piss her the fuck off, interrupt something really important she’s probably doing like…getting stem cells injected into her face to deny her age or something. You got your phone?” She lived to annoy her older sister, some people played the piano, some liked to read, Autumn Austin liked to make Summer Austin go shrill with annoyance as much as humanly possible. “Or one of your brothers or something?” 

“We both know I was too man for you and that’s how you ended up being a raging lesbian.  You knew there was nothing better after me.”  The nice thing about Autumn, she was not high maintenance, the two could just relax and ask the most random questions to one another.  “Is soy a bean?  I dunno, I think those are two different things.”  Granted, Tony didn’t know anything about anything.  “Wow, if you’re right that is crazy.  I don’t drink coffee a lot, because my mom says it gets me too hyper.”  At the mention of her sister, he raised a brow.  “Nah, let’s not mess with Summer.  She can beat me up and she always knows it is us who is calling her.”  At the mention of his siblings, he took a moment.  “Damn, Tara is a no cause she is too grown up.  Evan maybe, probably best not to call Reagan and Sloane has been weird.  She went off on me for wanting to be with Esmay and then stormed out of my apartment.  It was a lot.  Oh I know!  Let’s fuck with Peter.”

Esmay knew he’d entirely missed her point but let it slide as she did many other things when she was with Tony, he was after all built differently from pretty much everyone else in her life, but that was one of the things she liked so much about him. Pressing her lips against his deliberately to try and tell him what she was implying, she grinned, pulling away only when he questioned the condoms being in the bag. “Uh, nope, none in the bag. You forgot them? Oh my god Tony of all the things you could have fucking forgotten it’s the main reason you went there in the first place, what the hell am I going to do with you?” The brunette rolled her eyes at him as she let her body flop back down onto the bed, bouncing a little against the mattress as she gazed up at him considering the option. They could just do that, it was certainly an option, because Esmay didn’t feel like not having sex for the rest of the day but nor did she want to send him out all over again when that could just result in him forgetting again. “Could do!” Crooking her finger she beckoned him to come and join her laying down, no longer worried about putting on a movie. “If you want to, daddy. I’m yours to do what you want with.”

How did he forget the condoms, Tony tilted his head and drifted into his thoughts wondering how he forgot the rubbers.  Going through his little adventure, his eyes widened.  “Oh, I saw something sparkly and I must have forgotten to go back.”  Yes, that had to be it.  Tony watched as she flopped back onto the mattress and he wondered if she was disappointed, but when she agreed to anal his eyes widened.  Usually, that was a flat out no with a lot of women.  With her dark eyes gazing upon him as she motioned for him to join her, he eased up on top of her and kissed her.  He wiggled his eyebrows as their lips parted and he heard those words slip through her lips.  “So I should get the strap on?”  Tony teased before he dipped back to capture her lips in another heated kiss.  Pressing his body against hers, he kissed her deeply before finally tearing from her lips to lean back and pull his shirt over his head to reveal his perfectly sculpted abs.  “Alright, so where is the lube?”

 Verity always enjoyed her encounters with Tony as in her opinion he was very fun to be around. “Oh do you now?” She smirked back at him, draping her arms over her chest all while tilting her head slightly to the side as her eyes glanced over him in a slow manner, as if she was taking in the view of him or analyzing him. Only teasingly of course as she was sure he had his way with the ladies. “You are too kind, Tony. Giving the older generation in this town something to talk about other than their neighbors.” She chuckled before running a hand through her hair to push some of her loose strands out of her face. “Alright then, a drink it is. I know I could do with one right about now. Or two. I just need to have some fun as I haven’t in a while.” She admitted with a small smile on her lips, glad he seemed up for the idea of joining her. “Yes of course! What else is there?” She confirmed, sounding surprised at the questions as to her that was the best way of having some fun. “Well Peter is missing out on all the fun, because we do make some killer cocktails at the Pit Stop! What kind of drink would you like to try first?”

For a moment he paused, before he quickly nodded his head yes.  As she looked over at him, he leaned to the side to give a modeling stance.  “Tell me about it, I’m practically a town hero.”  For the most part he was joking, but he at least gave the town entertainment.  “Let’s do it then, plus everyone is gonna love my outfit at the bar.  I bet I have at least one chick hit on me...hell maybe even a dude cause I look great.  Like you look good too, but” he motioned towards his costume.  “For real, I tried to get him to try an appletini, but he said no and I couldn’t order one.  Oh, I think I want a cosmopolitan so I can feel fancy.”

The two conversed until they reached the bar and as they approached the doors, Tony ran up to open the door to be a gentleman.  “Okay, so what’s your favorite part about working here?”  He asked as they settled down on some stools in front of the bar.  “And what shouldn’t I order?”
