“It’s crazy how anything tastes good to you when you haven’t eaten for the whole day, isn’t it? And nope, this isn’t an invitation for you to come and steal my food. I’m not sharing, and you’d be a horrible person if you would do such things to me.”

“Me? Oh well… I don’t have a whole’lota money but I wouldn’t mind volunteerin’. Anythin’ta help out’n get me outta the house. It’s a win/win, right? Where do I sign up?”

“Volunteering helps. If not more than money. Well, actually not sure about that. BUT. I have a clipboard. It’s through the red cross, though. So. Glad you’ll help!”

“Well we can hopefully find something for him then. Though it really depends on his age because I don’t have anything for between the ages of five and fourteen.”

Arabella was all too aware of the damage of the floods, having helped stitch up quite a few people who were effected, so it didn’t take her more than a second to pull out her wallet. “Yes, of course sure. Would two twenties be alright? I don’t really carry big bills.”

Tony’s eyes widened. “Oh, you don’t have to give them to me. Like, your run of the mill squirrelly guy asking for money? No bueno, right?” he babbled, adding on an awkward laugh at the end. “No worries. Honest.”

“Well then I can do the taco – I can clean but my cleaning version is just throwing everything away. I doubt that is what you are trying to get right?”

“Better than my cleaning. I kind of ball everything up and put it in a pile. Or my mother... nevermind. But yeah. No, it’s all good.”

“I went once when it first opened. But I’m thinking I need to go back again now.”

“Yeah you do. My brother and I went recently. Diagon Alley is like a dream, honestly.”

“Right, I should have thought about that. —Are you sure? I’d love some help. I’ve been meaning to do a thorough clean up, so this is as good an excuse as any.”

“Yeah, sure. I’ll give you help. I’m not really doing anything right now, honestly. Just bopping about.”

Owen froze a little bit at the question, shrugging it off his shoulders. He looked over at the other male who had begun typing on his own laptop, but then just as quickly glanced back down at his own stack of books. “Studying up, just wanted to find a quiet place to do it.” Well —it wasn’t a total lie. Truthfully, he had been attempting to crack open a book for a few hours now, and yet his mind was just elsewhere –somewhere, out of reach. “You?”

Tony’s tongue was hanging out of his mouth at this point. He was concentrating on what was on his laptop screen. “AH. Yeah, I feel that. Though, I’m not helping. Sorry,” he apologised, glancing at the other. “I’m working on some programming. Before I have to map constellations,” he explained. Tony pulled a notebook out of his backpack and flicked it open. “Whatcha studying?” a muffled ask came out as his pencil was stuck in between his teeth.

Flashlight once more safe in her hands, the woman arched an eyebrow. The man’s response to her statement wasn’t quite the one she was expecting, and strange human being has an uncanny way of catching her attention. “Is she a ghost or something…else?” she asked, before flashing her light at a nearby headstone. It looked extremely old, almost like it had not been visited or cleaned in years. The name and passing date on the stone – Ester Smith, 1891 – proved this once Gin could make out the words. “And, more importantly…are you some kind of ghost hunter?”

Tony stood there quietly, waiting for the woman to speak. He bit his lip, looking around at the headstones. “She’s supposed to be. Wanders around here. Legend of sorts,” he replied. Tony took a few steps to the right, wandering down a path in the cemetery. The headstones were worn blank, except for the ones in the new part, of course. “Nah, not a ghost hunter. Just your average white boy into ghosts and ghouls,” he laughed, turning to her briefly.

“God, I know. I’ve already donated my spare clothes to the church, though. Are you part of that group? I know they’ve been accepting donations there.”

“Well you helped. Just trying to get the word out there. My friend’s house got hit hard so I’ve been helping that way and stuff.”
