I hope Brad explains why he and team gave Tony that obvious change up. If not that, then concept art on how old tony would have looked like with the new animation. Not that I'm complaining about how he looks now, I just wonder.

i think the reason for the whole tony change is just... to make him fit in.

in the first movie, the background people/everyone else aside from the incredibles all look the same, generic person. the incredibles were all dynamic and had cool, interesting character design. in 2004, they could pass that off with the lack of 3d animation technology. but, in 2018, with the new technology that pixar has now to make stylistic models quicker, im sure they wanted to make the people in the movie all look the same, style-wise.

also i think the fact that tony has a bigger role in the newer movie plays a part into his character design. they probably would have updated old tony’s look if he was only going to be vi’s boyfriend that shows up in one scene, no lines.

This was inspired by an old fanfiction I read years ago, can't find it now. But, old tony looks alot like the thief in Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl's rooftop scene. I was wondering if you can kinda see how they resemble each other? (Looking up: "thief in the incredibles" would give the clip of the scene, since I can't paste links)

he does actually! i can def see some resemblance with the face shape, nose and ears.

maybe after this confrontation, tony’s dad rethinks his life and decides to pursue his passion for cooking and make a restaurant and settle down! who knows.

(but im sure they, and literally every other civilian in the first movie, look alike because of pixar using the same “every-man” model in rather than take the time to design and render an individual background character that has no lines)

What sport does Tony play?

Rick mentions he’s involved in sports. My guess is swimming because in the first movie, his friend says, “I thought we were gonna go swimming today.”

He doesn’t exactly look like he has it cut out to play football or wreastle.

I can picture Violet going to his swim meets.
