Was a decent weekend for movies but.. Yes, feel bad for #TerminatorDarkFate, not hitting a solid mark for what felt like a true sequel to #T2. It had a crazy town of action, with what felt like an alternate take on the future for the #Terminator series.. Though, a little SJW in some choices, actually made it interesting.. I honestly didn't think it was that bad till they pretty much beat you over the head with it in a couple scenes.. Even for me. I honestly want to see a sequel to this though I'm not sure how they would go about it and with the total of, I believe, $134M worldwide.. 😒 - 4/5 #BlackAndBlue left some to be desired.. a tale of police corruption and racism that reminded me of some tidbits growing up.. But ya.. Felt like it was missing a little heart, didn't really hit hard on some aspects of things but it was attempting to be an action movie first, I think? - 3.5/5 #TheLighthouse though, just added so much to what felt like a messed up art movie that also had traces of comedy at the most random of points. But with #RobertPattinson showing that he has range topped off with #WillemDafoe doing his stark-raving angry thing that he can occasionally tap into in the most outrageous of ways, stole the weekend for me! So yes.. Everything I saw last weekend.. #DoubleTap took the lead for me.. Addams Family, not so much.. #MaleficentMistressOfEvil, was pretty damn good, I don't understand all the hate that it was getting from the critics. It's a #FairyTail, so I'm not too sure what they would expect from a sequel? Covers all the bases, character growth and has a resolution. Addams Family, though.. just had me replaying clips of the live-action movies jn my head throughout the whole movie.. it wasn't bad but I honestly think that they went the wrong way with this one, CG was completely unnecessary.. Should've just gone live-action.. Though I hear it has already been approved for a sequel. 🙄 But yes, no Jojo Rabbit.. Anywhere.. Unless I want to drive down to Boston.. About an hour away.. 😅 But overall #Zombieland had the weekend, enough so, caught it again with my buddy, Randy.. He liked it too! Even with the after-credit scenes! Wrote a decent size length about the movie but apparently timed out on the insta. #HobbsAndShaw was entertaining for the most part but the last quarter of the movie was absurd, a plot device introduced in the beginning of the movie excuses what you have seen in the trailers and makes it more unbelievable, #IdrisElba did pretty damn well as a villain though cartoony with the past issues of #JasonStatham. #RobDelaney and #RyanReynolds carry their scenes pretty well and the banter between them, #DwayneJohnson, and Jason Statham, make me want to see them in a #buddyflick. Be it a sequel to this or not, I want to see these men on screen bantering and dishing out the action while doing so. 2 1/2 out of 5. #ToyStory4 lives up to the heft and emotional vibes of the previous incarnations. At so many points, it pushes the bonds; of #friendship, #love, and one's #purpose. It'll make you laugh, almost cry and probably cry at a few points throughout. Flashing back to the original and slowly showing the lives impacted by their existence, those they've touched and saved along the way. Then continues on to answer or questions one's future.. A little reading into it, but it's there. I didn't expect a Toy Story movie to develop an odd level of actual depth, I was surprised! It made people weep at points that you wouldn't expect to.. I was starting to get a little misty but held it together, just barely. If you liked any of the series, it's worth a view, much like #Endgame, if you haven't already! Since this is the possible end of the series, depending on if they feel like it needs to continue or to wrap up some other characters fates.. having heard that this was initially written as a true ending but there is a possible point to which they may be able to again, continue. #TheDeadDontDie wasn't bad. But that's with me knowing what to expect, I knew it was going to be a little silly and have zombies in it, obviously. With the #FourthWallBreaking, it added to the laughs since people were saying, "what the? " and they would casually show you why or explain. #BillMurray did his thing as a town sheriff #TomWaits was funny in his depiction of a knowing #hobo, #AdamDriver playing a straightforward deputy, and it all starting off with a possibly stolen chicken from the local racist played by #SteveBuscemi. Story build from there introducing other characters like #DannyGlover, some hipsters and so on. It's a comedy that just happens to have zombies in it and some other things as you watch all along. It's a fun simple little ride, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to do a mini sequel or something but now I totally understand why they didn't put it on as many screens. It was refreshing to see, though eventually, through the Hipster scenes showing that it was oddly, political. They don't weigh heavily on it but it's there, just so random. I wanted to like it, but #MIBInternational was uninspired and tried to capture the magic of the first one and failed completely. By bringing in new eyes and characters to try and revive a series that may be better off left alone or reimagined elsewhere in some fashion. They try to use the chemistry of the two lead actors and that didn't fizzle or land at all. If you are imagining #ThorRagnarok, you're not going to get that. There is no witty banter or solid jokes, even the scenes that were made to be funny, weren't. #KumailNanjiani was limited by the character they had him embody but even then his humor didn't have the proper support it required to carry on.. So yes, I would recommend watching the original MIB and Thor Ragnarok, hoping for what could have been then actually ever watching this movie again. The CG left some room for improvement compared to the original CG of the 90s and so forth but on top of that, babe didn't really have a proper plot to make you feel as if you couldn't catch what it was. The best character in this movie would be all the shiny weapons and creative hiding of all of them. That's not saying much, at all. There will be better movies this weekend and sadly, a female comedian I never really cared for after she somehow got famous in #LateNight, and #TheDeadDontDie.. the latter, probably being the better of all of the movies this weekend.. since I have no plans for Sunday, chances are I will give 'Late Night' a shot after catching 'The Dead Don't Die' on Saturday. 😳 One and a half out of five. #DarkPhoenix was surprisingly decent, even with it being the first "Marvel Movie", yes Fox-Marvel, I know, without #StanLee. 😢 But, it is the better of the #PhoenixSaga movies! #JLaw was actually a downer.. for a series that tried to make her character 'the thing' that ties it altogether, she was not really worth anything in this other than being a #LamePlotDevice. Her character was useless, I understand she wanted to drop the series but the way they did it was lazy and it kind of brings down the whole movie. I'm curious to see what the other cut was, since they did add extra scenes and I have a feeling it was only to twist it into what this became.. since #ThePhoenixForce is the star and I'm happy that they actually use the original material to that extent. It's actually not too far from the original comic though they could have involved more making it actually likely that they would have made a fourth movie but since they saw the writing on the wall, I'm sure they ended it the way they did just for that very reason.. #Disney. Some of the characters changed who they were at the drop of a hat, and I understand that there tried to depict that there was friction but it definitely didn't feel natural and as I stated, the plot device was unnecessary. There weren't that many down portions, to the point of all the negativity that people had been spewing online since a lot of it was actually pretty decent. I want to say that it was actually better than a lot of the more recent #XMen movies. There was no after credit scene but they hinted at certain things that won't pay off since this universe is most likely dead.. why I feel that they were hoping for more but decided to just kill it. Saw all three #NewReleases this weekend. #MA being the least of them.. From shotty recycled revenge plot to awkward nonsense.. Though it did have some pretty messed up scenes, using pet supplies here and there.. To just abrupt kills. The plot overlooked the giant hole within it...-2.5/5 <<<<#Spoiler>>>>> one person just had to report everything.. #DropADime and it would've been done. #GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters and #Rocketman taking the lead. #Godzilla played like a blockbuster, continuing from the previous with some survivors of the previous battle or encounter.. in conjunction with #Monarch trying to stop a (designated title)#Titan free for all... It was nuts. #Brightburn.. wasn't bad for what it was, #JamesGunn definitely knows how to get at you in one form or another, that's for sure! I dropped it half a point based on that ominous feeling of dread you get while watching as some of the dark and grim actions taken, kind of keep going.. one make all the ending bittersweet but still. 👀 If you want the opposite of a feel-good movie, this is probably it! I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a sequel of some sort but I'm not 100% sure that there will be a sequel to this even though there is some room, though not much.. But maybe? His face says it all. I was going to do a separate post but I guess I'll just put it in this one, I thought the season wasn't the best but this episode, the last episode, made up for some of the season's problems, #IMO.
