Found this picture of my cat when she was a baby in 2018. The first day in my house 😭❤.
She was so, so tiny.

Having a supportive partner can literally change your life.
Dealing With Pet Bereavement & Grief.
Today is Curmudgeons Day! An actual holiday that celebrates grumpiness!
Are there any benefits to being a bit of a grump?
Grumpy Cat (RIP) and his owner certainly reaped fame and wealth, but what about us mere humans?
A major study was undertaken in 2010 studying the effects of negative attitude. The results were surprising.
Negative moods - like grumpiness could indicate we're experiencing a new and challenging situation, calling for a more attentive, detailed and observant thinking style.
The research also showed that feeling down enhanced social cues and encouraged people to act fairer to others.
Personally, I believe every feeling and emotion can be honoured, accepted and celebrated.
The current movement toward attaining permanent happiness is both dangerous and unrealistic.
A balanced life is the delicate embrace of every facet of our lives.
January 28th is Kazoo Day!
As a musical instrument, the Kazoo certainly is an acquired taste.
Personally, there's something about seeing someone playing a Kazoo that makes me laugh!
If you've never played one, give it a go - learning to play a new instrument is beneficial in many ways. It can make you smarter, relieves stress, improves patience, increases your memory skills and builds confidence.
Surprisingly, playing the Kazoo has been shown to increase lung function for people with cerebral palsy as well as improve your athletic performance!

Happy World Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!
Yes, this is an actual thing!
There's something satisfying and addictive about popping bubble wrap. In fact a scientific study was undertaken in New York.
Stress Management: An integrated approach to therapy. Brunner/Mazel. 1990.
30 undergraduate students were assessed to see if tactile manipulation of bubble wrap could be stress reducing. Subjects reported feeling significantly more energized, less tired and calmer after their bubble popping. Something most of already know!
The advantage of this technique is that there's no skill, training or practice required.
I wouldn't go so far as to say bubble popping is more beneficial in reducing stress than meditation or mindfulness, but it's certainly worth adding a strip to our self care tool boxes.
Make treating yourself an essential part of self care.
How often do you give to others?
Address the imbalance and start taking time to look after You.
And donuts.
A change of perspective is often all we need to see things more clearly.
