They did meet each other when Odysseus visited the Underworld! However I'd give two extra points. Firstly, even if Achilles and Patroclus wanted to beat up Odysseus when he visited the Underworld, they couldn't! Odysseus tries to hug his dead mom but he can't actually make contact with her.

She explains that since she's no longer a being with flesh and bone he can't touch her. So even if Achilles/Patroclus wanted to beat up Odysseus they wouldn't actually be able to.

Second option. Achilles and Patroclus did beat up Odysseus but since he's the one telling the story he doesn't admit that he got his ass handed to him by two ghosts. Take your pick.
